Are you joking calling their midfield the best in the world? One of the dumbest quotes I've ever heard. You must be listening to the ESPN announcers to much.
Fabregas, Iniesta, Xavi, Cazorla, Xabi Alonso, Riera, Silva, etc.

A 4 player midfield consisting of any of these guys is the best in world right now. If you know futbol, you know there is none better. Tommy and Derek aren't bad commentators for ESPN, everyone else is average at best.

Kaka(2007 Wold player of the year), Ronaldinho(2005 and 2006 World player of the year), Anderson Luís de Abreu Oliveira, Julio César Baptista etc......... Brazil has tons to choose from.

Argentina has Esteban Cambiasso, Lucho Gonzalez, Maxi Rodriguez, Javier Mascherano, Fernando Gago etc................

I dont think youre all that bright champ

I said Spain is on par with Arg and Braz, not better; you said Spain cant be in same discussion at all (retarded)

sure Spain is known for underachieving, but this generation is different and they won EuroCup to prove it

IMO this WC is for a Euro team to take, a 'neutral' site ala Japan, Euro's turn and Spain is playing the best

We can only hope for a dream match up with ESP vs ARG or ESP vs BRS in WC play not a friendly

gl
They won the Euro before in 1964, and finished 3rd in their group and didn't advance out of the first round. Not to mention this generation has already had one WC to prove themselves and they got destroyed by France in the 2nd round 3-1.

Here's their alignment for that game.

  • [1]
    Iker CASILLAS (GK)
  • [3]
    Mariano PERNIA
  • [5]
    Carles PUYOL
  • [7]
    RAUL (C) (-54')
  • [8]
    XAVI (-72')
  • [9]
    Fernando TORRES
  • [14]
    XABI ALONSO
  • [15]
    SERGIO RAMOS
  • [18]
    Cesc FABREGAS
  • [21]
    David VILLA (-54')
  • [22]
    PABLO

The key word I'm using in my posts is NOW. Kaka peaked when he won the CL in 2007 and Ronaldinho peaked in those years you listed, good job. Anderson rarely gets playing time at United and the beast's career is tailing off at mediocre Roma.

Cambiasso and Lucho weren't even called up for their last fixture. Mascherano wasn't called up either, but he is actually very good. Gago is average at best, Real is trying to off load him.

Kaka peaked at the age of 25 and declined at 27. Some great logic there. Ronaldinho is still one of the world's best players. Anyone whose dumb enough, to say or think he's not. deserve to be speaking about soccer in the first place.

Argentina is one of the two most talented countries as far as depth of talent goes. Maradona is trying other talent out on the team.

Spain LMAO................ Freakin joke comparison.

did someone just say Ronaldinho is still one of the best players in the world? What sport have i've been watching past few years? Must not have been soccer because I sure didn't see Ronaldinho play what I thought was soccer very well.

Haha...maybe the fat Ronaldo still has his best football ahead of him too.
