APRIL 7, 2020 : Coronavirus good news: U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson stable and ‘in good spirits’; receiving oxygen and Not on ventilator, No. 10 says

Yesterday, we wrote about U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson after he was admitted to the hospital due to persistent symptoms of coronavirus. Today, we have some good news to share with you. Prime Minister Boris Johnson is said to be “in good spirits” after spending the night in intensive care being treated for coronavirus, according to a report from BBC, citing No 10.

The 55-year old prime minister has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab to deputize for him “where necessary.”
According to Downing Street, “The PM is receiving excellent care, and thanks all NHS staff for their hard work and dedication.”

In a statement on Tuesday, a Downing Street spokesman said: “The prime minister has been stable overnight and remains in good spirits. He is receiving standard oxygen treatment and is breathing without any other assistance. Unlike oxygen, a ventilator takes over the body’s breathing process when disease has caused the lungs to fail.

Mr Johnson was admitted to St Thomas’ Hospital in central London with “persistent symptoms” of Covid-19 on Sunday and was moved to intensive care on Monday at 19:00 BST after his symptoms worsened. “He has not required mechanical ventilation or non-invasive respiratory support.”

Dem Governor Who Banned Hydroxychloroquine Gets Caught Hoarding It

The Democrat Governor of Nevada has done something incredibly suspicious that may affect the health of millions of people.

If this doesn't sound suspicious, nothing does. Is this Democrat leader playing partisan politics with people's lives?

Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, Democrat, had a kneejerk reaction to President Trump's optimism about a malaria drug that might be an effective treatment for the Wuhan coronavirus. Trump was hopeful about the drug, so anti-Trump Democrats like Sisolak were against it. Gov. Sisolak banned (hydroxy)chloroquine as a treatment for COVID-19, ostensibly over concern of hoarders stockpiling the medicine and causing shortages for patients who use the drug for other ailments like Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis. But while the governor restricted the public from receiving the potentially life-saving drug, Nevada's Department of Corrections began stockpiling the drug for prisoners.
Despite overwhelming evidence suggesting the use of (hydroxy)chloroquine may be an effective treatment for COVID19 patients, the Nevada governor banned the drug & then started stockpiling it.

This guy has some serious explaining to do - if average citizens aren't allowed to get the treatment, why is his state now

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MARCH 17: Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak speaks during a news conference on the state's response to the coronavirus outbreak at the Grant Sawyer State Office Building on March 17, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sisolak announced a statewide closure of all nonessential businesses by noon on March 18th for at least 30 days and said all gaming machines were to close by midnight tonight. The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus (COVID-19) a global pandemic on March 11th.

April 6, 2020 : NY Gov Cuomo admits Hydroxychloroquine/Zith drugs are “promising”

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo cautiously admitted that hydroxychloroquine combined with Azithromycin has shown “promising” results but there is no “scientific proof” at this point. The doctors are conducting observational trials.

The only scientific proof Dr. Fauci will accept are clinical trials with one group getting the placebo, which means those people could be sentenced to death. Doctors don’t want to do that with this deadly illness.

Also, the data set is too small at this point, as Mr. Cuomo explained.

President Trump is increasing the supply of hydroxychloroquine to New York, but he isn’t getting a thank you from Cuomo. The New York Governor said the “federal government” is giving him the drug.

“There has been anecdotal evidence that it is promising. That’s why we’re going ahead. Doctors, of course, have to prescribe it…but anecdotally it’s been positive,” he said.

Cuomo will release the 14-day restriction on how much hydroxychloroquine can be prescribed at one time once they receive more from the federal stockpile.

This is good news. Also, in the good news department, the Dow jumped 1600 points. Will the media have good news for us or will this be portrayed in a negative light or not mentioned at all?

Is this Superbowl Fauci you speak of?

Yes. I think he’s trying to ensure no more trump supporters mistake the drug trump has stock in with fish tank cleaner. I think T hawk and those who hate Fauci should be thanking him for this. You guys don’t need anymore trump supporters dead like that. Not a good look.

APRIL 7, 2020 : Coronavirus death toll will be ‘much, much, much lower’ than projected, CDC Director says

Depending on where you get your news, there are many models out there that say between 100,000 to 200,000 Americans will die from the deadly coronavirus. However, Dr. Robert Redfield, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), predicted that the death toll from the Chinese coronavirus will be “much, much, much lower” than the models have projected due to Americans following social distancing recommendations.

In answer to a question from the radio host, Dr. Robert Redfield said: “I think it’s really important. First, models are only as good as their assumptions. Obviously, there was a lot unknown about this virus. The ability to actively make a lot of assumptions was much wider than if this was an Influenza B outbreak. Second thing, I will say from a public health perspective, to me, the real value of models is to have a model and then try to understand — if I invest resources here, what does that do to the model? If I invest in intervention strategies here, what does that do to the model? It’s a way of beta testing how you’re going to respond and what it does to the different models. And models should never be used to assume that we have a number. You saw those numbers are quite staggering. You’ve got 200,000 to 2 million Americans are losing their lives before the fall. That’s a pretty staggering number.”

APRIL 7, 2020 : The hydroxychloroquine debate: Three eminent doctors are calling on French government to adopt Dr. Didier Raoult’s treatment recommendations

At this point, some of you are probably tired of reading another hydroxychloroquine article. However, that may be true in a normal time. But this is not a normal time. We are living in a unique time waging war against an unseen enemy–coronavirus.

For some of our audience who have been following the hydroxychloroquine story, it all started after scientists, researchers, and doctors from around the world shared their experience about anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine. A vitro test conducted by researchers in China showed hydroxychloroquine slow infections from the COVID-19 virus and blocked the virus from entering human cells. A study led by a renowned French researcher Dr. Didier Raoult, also found the hydroxychloroquine in combination with Zinc Sulphate, to be effective in clearing upper airways from the virus in 3-6 days in COVID-19 patients. The most recent trial study of 62 patients from China found that hydroxychloroquine helped speed the recovery of a small number of patients who were mildly or moderately ill.

Since the French study first surfaced online, the use of hydroxychloroquine has generated a lot of debates and controversies here in the United States. The controversies are partly due to lack of sufficient data and trials to back up the claims and partly political. In late March, U.S. President Trump tweeted about hydroxycholoroquine after hearing many positive stories about how the drug has some people’s lives. In France, for example, many scientists and critics of Dr. Didier Raoult, were quick to cast doubt upon his findings. They said the testing was not carried out in a controlled study and that the results were purely “observational.”

However, none of the controversies stops Dr. Didier Raoult from continuing his study and his mission of saving lives. As we reported yesterday, Dr. Didier Raoult has so far treated 1000 coronavirus patient with 99.3% success rate. Of the 1000 patients treatments, 20 patients went to the ICU and 7 patients died.

As the controversy rages one, three eminent French doctors are now calling on French government to adopt Dr. Didier Raoult’s treatment recommendations. According to a French newspaper, Lefigaro, Dominique Maraninchi, Fabien Calvo and Jean-Luc Harousseau, former directors and presidents of the ANSM, the HAS and the INCA recommend applying the treatment developed by Professor Didier Raoult as soon as the first symptoms of the coronavirus appear.

Fabien Calvo is professor emeritus of pharmacology at the University of Paris-Diderot and the former scientific director of the National Cancer Institute, Jean-Luc Harousseau is a former professor of hematology at the University of Nantes and the former President of the High Authority for Health, Dominique Maraninchi is Professor Emeritus of Cancerology in Aix-Marseille and the former Director General of the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products.

“Scientists and doctors clash both on the reality of the early reduction of the viral load which would prevent the most serious complications but especially on the absence of demonstration of the benefit in a “randomized” trial (which applies the rules having for aim of evaluating the effectiveness of a treatment,” Lefigaro says.

In a post on Twitter, Dr. Raoult said: “Beautiful tribune by Dominique Maraninchi, Fabien Calvo and Jean-Luc Harousseau, former directors and presidents of the ANSM, the HAS and the INCA.”

The debate about hydroxychloroquine is never going to go away anytime soon. In the end, it all comes down to and the ethics of treatment against the ethics of research and the moral of the choice between caring for dying patients and experimentation. Doctors will have to make a choice between healing a dying patient using a drug that has been on the market since World War II or wait for proven results of trial studies, which may be months or years away.

April 8,2020 : Another hydroxychloroquine success story: Dr. Marc Siegel says hydroxychloroquine cured his 96-year-old father of coronavirus

Over the past two months, about 50 percent of our news coverage has been focused on coronavirus. Our goal is not to make up the news but to share relevant information from reliable sources about this deadly virus. To date, the vast majority of our coverage has been focused on sharing news from researchers and scientists about effective treatments for the COVID-19 virus. According to doctors working in the front lines, one of the most effective drugs for treating coronavirus patients is hydroxychloroquine.
For us, however, sharing success stories about hydroxychloroquine comes at a price. We’ve received threatening messages and emails from many people accusing us of sharing news about “unproven drug.” Some even went as far as calling on Google to shut us down. When we relaunched in 2017, our mission back then was to “promote new companies that could change the world.” Today, our mission is still the same, but now its more expansive to include sharing information that will potentially save human lives. As coronavirus continues to claims tens of thousands people around the world, we will not be silenced by mean-spirited people who are trying to shut us down.
Now that we get that out of the way, we would like to share another hydroxychloroquine success story. Last night, Dr. Marc Siegel, a Fox News medical correspondent, shared a personal story of how hydroxychloroquine saved his father’s life. In an interview with Tucker Carlson on Tuesday Tonight, Dr. Siegel shared a story of a patient who used the drug with a surprise ending.
Dr. Siegel pointed out that there have been multiple preliminary studies that have shown that hydroxychloroquine, an antimalarial drug, has a positive effect on coronavirus patients, despite what many called potential harmful side effects.
Dr. Siegel began, “If you’re a doctor, and you take into account the side effects here, and there are some, you may decide that it’s well worth it for particular patients.” As he went on Dr. Siegel said: “Tucker, I want to tell you about a 96-year-old man in Florida who said one night, ‘I don’t think I’m going to make it. I feel very weak. The end is coming. I’m coughing, I’m short of breath, I can’t get up from the couch,’” Siegel recounted. “The next day he was on hydroxychloroquine and antibiotics, per his cardiologist, he got up the next day, he was fine.”
In a surprise ending that left Tucker almost speechless, Dr. Siegel said: “This man is my father, Tucker.”
“Wow,” Carlson responded. “That couldn’t be a clearer and heavier example.”
Dr. Siegel’s story is not an isolated one. A day before, a Democratic Michigan state lawmaker also made headlines saying hydroxychloroquine saved her life. She went on to thank U.S. President Trump after she claimed that her coronavirus symptoms “went from zero to 100 in [no] time” after taking the hydroxychloroquine.

April 8,2020 : Asians have the lowest death rate from coronavirus disease, according to early data of racial breakdown of COVID-19 deaths reported in New York City

According to early data of racial breakdown of COVID-19 deaths released by NYC Health Department, Asians have the lowest death rate from coronavirus disease. The early data shows that of those who have died from coronavirus in the New York City, only 7.2 percent were Asian. However, the data does not look good for Blacks and Latinos. We have to be careful about not generalizing the finding. The data only represents the racial breakdown of COVID-19 deaths in New York City.

Latino and black residents in New York City have higher mortality rates from coronavirus, according to preliminary numbers released by the city on Wednesday morning. Hispanic and Latino New Yorkers have the highest COVID-19 death rate: 22.8 out of 100,000 people. Black/African American New Yorkers have the second highest reported death rate, 19.8 out of 100,000. White New Yorkers have COVID-19 death rate of 10.2 per 100,000, while Asians’ rate is 8.4 percent.

The preliminary data (data from NYC as of April 6, 2020) released by the city on Wednesday morning shows only 63 percent of reported deaths in New York City because according to the city, the vast majority of cases are reported by labs and often did not have race or ethnicity data.

“The vast majority of cases are reported by labs, and race/ethnicity information is often missing because it is not
received on the test requisitions from providers. Data about persons who identify as American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, or other races are not available. Hispanic/Latino includes people of any race,” NYC Health said.

Below is a link to the data.

UPMC and University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Scientists Announce Potential Vaccine

When tested in mice, the vaccine produces antibodies specific to SARS-CoV-2 at quantities thought to be enough to neutralize the virus.
The vaccine is delivered through a fingertip-sized skin patch. The research team calls this vaccine PittCoVacc, short for Pittsburgh Coronavirus Vaccine.
A paper on the vaccine appeared April 2 in EBioMedicine, which is published byThe Lancet. It is the first study on a potential COVID-19 vaccine to be published after a critique from fellow scientists at outside institutions.

Wondering the same. The constant trolling by certain membership here on both sides make me think there are some paid actors here.

I like this site when sports are here and there is something to talk about other than this bullcrap.

But yet here I am - that stops today. Good luck all.

HW

Except I am not a Trump ride or die member lol did not vote for him or Hillary don't like either of them

To be honest do not like nor support many politicians at all

Thing I don't like is people fear mongering, stupidity, and the like...

You have to be getting paid to be on here and posting what and how you do
Like some other posters, must be getting paid to post how you do and act how you do
Normal, good, adjusted people do not act like that...
