I think the game is flawed.
when a vastly inferior team can basically play an entire game with the singular strategy of having a 0-0 tie after all minutes then win it at the end with penalty kicks I don't like that.

It would almost be like a basketball team playing 4 corners with no shot clock then having a free throw shooting contest at the end to see who wins.

I agree that some teams are frustrating to watch when they employ this strategy (Italy is notorious for trying to win every game 1-0), I don't agree that "vastly inferior" teams can routinely play to a 0-0 tie. More often than not, the superior team will find a way to score and win.

Total BULLSHIT time keeping system. ohh,, we're up a goal.....flop on the ground for 2 minutes and act like you got hit by an RPG.

In theory, it shouldn't really matter. Whether he stays on the ground 30 seconds or 3 minutes, the ref is keeping time on the field and adding that to the injury time at the end of the half/game. But I agree its still frustrating to watch.

No reason not to stop the clock. This time on the field stuff is bullshit.

My biggest problem with soccer is the extreme harshness of awarding a penalty kick for a foul in the box. Not all fouls are the same. Robben wasn't facing the goal, or lined up to shoot. Mexico had defenders between the ball and the goal, yet when he goes down, a pk is given.

I understand they will never change the rules, but awarding a penalty kick is like giving a team a 95% chance of scoring a goal. It is the harshest rule in all of sports.

I'm a purist of the game but I agree... penalties should be more subjective to the harshness of the tackle and implied chance of a score.
