So you possibly have the best QB ever and you kick to start OT? (Pats at Jets)

The Colts are morons. Texans clearly were going to win today from the beginning and what do the Colts do? Freakin win. Why? If you aren't going to the playoffs, position yourself to get the best pick. What's next? Clear Andrew Luck to play week 17 to watch him tear an ACL. Pagano is gone a week from tomorrow along with Grigson. Titans have clearly mailed it in. Should be an ugly game next week. Colts 3rd string qb and the Titans just suck and can't wait for the season to end.

With that pointless win today, Colts go from picking 14th to 18th if draft were today.

Oh great.....here comes Mike B to put us to sleep with more boredom.

Made an accurate comment about the idiotic patriot fans here......they are dumb like you.

But what should I expect from a guy who wants someone to make a bet with him at even money when he can get plus 400 elsewhere.

seriously, I've seen coma patients with more personality than you.

Maybe the pats wanted to keep Pittsburgh out the playoffs.
They would rather the jets.

If that's the case the move was pure jeanyous!!!

this could have been in play.. Pats actually did something similar in last play of last regular season gsme of 05 season.. If pats won they'd play pitt (who would win SB that year), if pats lost they'd play jax. Cassel threw ball away on a 2pt conversion attempt that could have tied game and sent to ot.

You know under the new overtime rules you can make the case to kickoff in ot under certain conditions .
Its -/even most of the time but having the ability to win the game with a FG if you stop the other team is something that the team that gets the ball first is not afforded.

You have to crunch the numbers and the situation for whatever particular game that's being played to figure out the odds of stopping the other team from getting into fg range. But if the odds are right kicking off in OT may not be a bad idea.

Now if this was done under the old sudden death rules like the Detroit idiot coach did during their 0-16 season it would be tied for the dumbest play call in NFL history . But with the new rules that changes everything.

agree..

Under new format, i dont think belichick kicking is a bad move.. Especially when you consider the roster they were playing with and the way the game had gone. Defense was playing well and offense couldn't do anything. forcing the jets to punt and then needing just a fg to win was more realistic than his team with the players they had getting ball first and ending game.

if it was me I'd probably take the ball, but by no means was this some boneheaded decision the masses are making it to be.

So you are saying the Patriots are intentionally losing games?

Of course.....they did everything they could for 4 quarters....including a last drive to tie up the game......and then decided to throw it thru the coin toss in overtime.

Makes sense if you follow patriots logic. Thankfully Fitzpatrick didn't fumble a snap and ruin the plan.

Considering what happened in the 05 game/scenario I referenced, and the fact they wouldn't have known Pitt outcome to after regulation.. What I was providing was simply food for thought. Nothing more nothing less.

Not sure why everyone becomes so irrationally upset when it comes to NE.

I'm not upset. Just being sarcastic......I don't think a team like the patriots have any need to position themselves against any opponent. When healthy, they are much better than any potential afc opponent.
