My man Silver

Holidays were great, thanks. It looks you may have some egg nog leftover. You're clearly hopped up on something. Defense beats offense in big games, and I think LSU would shut down USC like they did Oklahoma. Like the poster above said, "top offense in the country only managed 14pts and one came from a 2 yd drive". LSU dominated Oklahoma the whole game.
But, as you know, I'm an SEC man, so I'm biased.
Looks like Nutt will be here for a while. I just hope his little ploy to get a raise will land us some recruits. Cobbs and about 20 other starters are gone after this year. Might be a rough season next year, but we'll survive.
I go to Oaklawn a couple of times a year. Let me know when you're going and we can meet up for a beer and corn beef sandwich.

Congratulations to both USC and LSU for winning their home Bowl games however, I can't help but wonder if the same 2 teams would win had they played in Oklahoma and Michigan.

The difference in the LSU/Oklahoma game was coaching. Saban flat out knew everything about Oklahoma. He knew what they were going to do before Oklahoma knew what they were going to do.

If Coach Carroll (USC) could figure out that you don't have 10 seconds to sit back in the pocket and wait to get sacked. I would take USC. Leinhart is a GREAT QB! I couldn't believe how he tore up the Michigan D. The guy didn't make any mistakes.

However, if USC's game plan would be to run 15-20 yards routes (like Oklahoma) give me LSU. Both Michigan and Oklahoma couldn't understand that they needed to get the ball out of the QB's hands and into their playmaker's hands. Call the 3 step drops and get rid of the ball. Is it that hard to understand?

Dan T....I don't know why you keep referencing Oklahoma as the top offense in the country. If anything came from this bowl season it is that the Big 12 should be called the Big Joke. Prior to LSU, Oklahoma's offense got exposed by Kansas State. The same Kansas State team that made Ohio State look like an offensive jaugernaut.

Another thing...LSU's defense is awesome, but so is Michigan's. LSU ranked 2nd, Michigan Ranked 7th. USC put up 400+ yards against that defense. In fact, Michigan has a better secondary than LSU, they only allowed 5 TD passes all year! USC would put up 400+ on anybody.

LSU on the otherhand has an average at best offense, and I can say with absolute certainty not nearly as good as Michigan's.

I personally think USC would beat LSU worse than they beat Michigan...there would be more turnovers in USC's favor, which would lead to more points.

USC 31 - LSU 14
