Pretty messed up system when you have to pretty much a senator or something or dirt poor and on welfare/ Medicaid/ food stamps/ section 8, etc., In order to get affordable health care.

I guess Medicare helps some be when you hit 65 ?

There has to be a better way...

Yes my wife had Mrsa a bacterial infection she was super sick went to er thinking I have coverage no way did she know are er copay/ deductible was that much. In addition my deductibles for catastrophic surgery over 7500. I will post my plan. I had Obama care through the exchange of our state when it was first implemented and yes monthly cost were cheaper however coverage was even worse not to mention when government involved total clusterfuck. There telling you they except your coverage when they don’t total nightmare. We left the exchange 3 years ago because our health care rep said this was a better option. Single paying system is shit unless your in the 1 percent . Nothing like waiting 3 months to see a doctor. We are quickly moving toward great Britain France Germany where waiting is the norm . I like having choices and this is just more bs. Remember health savings accounts that was some smart shit. I will post my plan in this thread so you can see for yourself .

ah, it was the deductible , k.

so in effect the yearly cost for medical is ;
$27,600 + deductible per person if used; can be as low as $0 to a household high of $7800 ( if all 3 use the plan)

and add $7500 for a 'major' surgery

right?

BUT the plan covers everything, right? or fine print that some stuff aint covered?

hope your wife is okay

doug , does seem nutty that the poor/elderly have 'free' healtcare but if you work you are paying bigtime. Family of 3 with $30,000+ yearly costs with after-tax dollars? huh?

took this thread on a tangent, sorry Doug.

brendanjack is self-employed , so does that explain these costs?

if working for say Apple Inc, the employees have dramatic less healthcare yearly costs as the employer fits part of the bill...?

okay, as an example- someone working FT at McDonalds (paid minimum wage likely or slightly above). Was is that person's healthcare coverage status?

Large corporations have cafeteria plans I believe so healthcare cost can be written off to what extent I’m not positive but as small mom and pop business in middle class America we get fucked in every direction

Every direction.

The small business owner got fk'd by Obamacare. THey pay everything for the poor (non workers or workers under the table) while the premiums soared and the deductibles soared with them. So unless you have a catastrophic health problem you pay a fortune for you're premium and pay again virtually every time you seek care. Many low / middle wage earners have to make family decisions about whether the doctor or hospital is absolutely necessary because they can't afford the deductible they will be shackled with. This while the sloths and the scammers get complete free coverage. Obamacare was a scam for the average working class man / woman / family.

You wonder why some of us support Trump?

no overpaid powerful lobbyists for the courageous, the risk takers: the small business owners.

small businesses should be empowered, unfettered. Certainly not happening north of the border with our cartoon character in office

stay well

Tipping in general is tough concept.

I do like the control factor , I have over a $2.13/ hour serving wench, you better serve me well because I control what you get paid.... That factor.

It gets confusing even for an American...

Who to tip Everytime... Waitresses, cabbies, for sure

Almost Never tip a bus driver, cashier, etc.

Sometimes tip certain people, or at X-MAS only.

If you buy a sofa for $800, you don't tip the delivery guy twenty percent and give him $160, but you should give something.

I really wouldn't know what to do in a foreign country and I'm sure many foreign visitors have no clue what to here. In some cultures, I believe Japan is one, a tip is considered an insult, so don't expect a nice toke from Japanese tourists if you're serving them...

I don't like the idea of a worker's wages being so heavily weighted on tips like a waitress has to contend with, you could draw some bad tables and get the stuff sorts like teenagers, foreigners that don't know the custom, or certain ethnic groups known to be stiffs even if filthy rich
