Plus Seattle has been to the big game the last two seasons.

I agree so much with this that I made a thread on it yesterday. Not only Seattle but Arizona and New England yesterday as well.

The public is thinking of the previous game each team played. Also into consideration is a good record like Carolina versus a team with not so good of a record.

Doesn't make sense to me either, which is why I'm on Seattle.
