Only a $10 bettor would feel comfortable mailing their tickets in. I prefer to get paid IN PERSON since they're quite a lot more than your measly $10 bets.

Wait, I do have a question: what happens when the tickets get there AFTER the expiration date, dummy?

I just gave you the reasons why you should feel fine mailing the tickets in... you can even insure them thru the mail if you want to go that far. if you fill out the back of the ticket and print ' pay by mail ' on ticket its full proof.. I've had the conversation before with shop management.. not a shop out there that will deny the ticket if its in a reasonable time frame.. sometimes it takes extra time , because the tickets for that particular event are archived and they don't like searching back thru for them.. that's the reason for the time period more than anything else... giving you good advice here.. maybe common sense can prevail.. a person calling me out for 10 dollar bets should take me on in a side bet ..

I have mailed tickets in before so I know how it works. But they were small enough that if they got lost or stolen I wouldn't care. Again, I would NEVER mail in any substantial amount like the ones I cashed recently.

How do you insure betting slips? I have never heard of this before or being legal.

If you want to prove your bets for the first time, go ahead. I have posted several betting slips before.

no. i'm saying insure the priority mail if you must. again , if your name is on the ticket , it can't be cashed by someone walking up with it in the casino. I think all tickets ask you to print ' pay by mail ' to insure that..

Take a picture of the ticket, sign the back, attach an address sticker to the back of the ticket, take another picture, go to the post office, get registered mail and wait for your money to arrive. Next problem.

Even Registered mail get lost all the time. And, if they arrive after their expiration date, will they still honor it? No one knows for sure.

Only thing that's 100% is cashing them IN PERSON which I'm glad I did especially in light of sportsbook shutting down operations, possibly for months.

they will honor it if its in reasonable time.. have had the conversation with a lot of book supervisors and the gaming commision.. the reason for the date on the back is mostly because of accounting.. tickets get archived after so much time... have explained all of this over and over but a lot of it , not surprisingly , doesn't seem to sink in..

part of my reputation on this forum for several years has been betting futures , so if anyone knows all of this , its me

local Rivers Casino is pimping their online slots games very hard. of course there is zero % chance i ever play but pretty much getting a daily email for "deposit $250, get $250 Bonus Play" and notices of new games. they are scrambling for sure

even a guy like me, who absolutely despises slots, is intrigued by the 250/250 so I can imagine they are getting some heavy sign-ups from the blue-hairs that are missing their bandit time.

As a former postal worker, I can assure you that registered mail rarely, if almost never gets lost !

3rd class junk gets there reliably enough, and nobody will miss if it gets misdelivered, poatalese for lost, USPS has never lost a piece of mail, ever !, Well maybe in that Hindenburg thing ?

First class mail (FCM) is pretty damn reliable.

Registered is signed for by everyone handling it, it's like a million to one that slips by

I've seen some weird shit at USPS, I've seen 20 year old letters encased in a plastic bodybag and stamped " found in supposedly empty equipment "

They use things called hampers that get stacked up, 3-4 high and might be stored for decades, then a stray piece of mail is found 15-30 years later and delivered, very rare, but it happens

Registered is extremely secure

I've held boxes of stamps worth like 50k+ destined for smaller offices and it was a change of hands signature thing Everytime it gets moved.

That's hearsay. Unless you've personally cashed tickets after their expiration dates, I wouldn't trust hearsay for even a $100 ticket. Certainly not for the amount I'm talking about.

---------------------------------------------------------

According to this guy, he's had 3 RM lost or stolen.

I've had 3 registered mails lost/stolen. In each case, I received payment promptly from the USPS. The USPS wouldn't tell me what happened, but, they did say they knew what occured,

Yeah, mail them in so close to their expiration date. Great idea. Not to mention they're a large sum... not like they could get lost or anything.

Sounds like someone has never placed a wager in Vegas, at least nothing over $10.
[FONT=Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]If you read the back of the ticket you'll see that the ticket is valid for
a year after conclusion of the event. And even they will honor it.

I remember reading an article on a guy who forgot he won. I forget which casino
it was but they refused to pay. He filed a complaint with the gaming commission
and they ruled in his favor.

As for mailing, your fears are unwarranted.

And lastly if you've waited close to year before cashing, shame on you.

Not all books give you a year. CG Technology is 180 days for example.

[FONT=Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]Again what they write on the ticket is meaningless. The Nevada Gaming Commission has the last say.

We're not talking some fly by night offshore Gaming company.

According to Nevada Gaming Regulation 22.080, a sports bet can expire in as little as 30 days after the date of the event. You can file a dispute but only way you'd win is on a technicality like the rules not being posted in plain view.

I bet if you posted the details of that article, it wasn't what you claim.

[FONT=Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]The regulation you cited does in fact say 30 days. Yet GT says 180 days and Stations where I wager
has it at a year.

Why do you suppose that is?

They're all fighting to take your money and they don't want to lose you as a customer.

Especially if you're a whale like you claim to be.

In any event I'm not here to argue. Just my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.

So CG Technology wants customers only 1/2 as much as the books who offer a year?

I'm actually not going take your advice since you've been wrong about everything.

Always hilarious when $10 bettors tell me what to do with my stacks of Benjamins. Thanks for the laugh.
