If we honestly "shut down our borders" in the manner espoused by the cats at NumbersUSA, we also shut down literally billions per day in legal international trade.

Tough pill to swallow for the staunch anti-immigration crowd, but the simple fact is that we cannot "shut down our borders" in their current state.

It's literally impossible...unless


We abandon our commitment to spending billions per week providing mercenary services in Iraq, Afghanistan, Eastern Europe, Korea, Japan et al and rechannel those billions per week


....interupting to repeat...BILLIONS PER WEEK

....into completely rebuilding our borders - notably our southern borders - in a manner which would permit the continuation of busy international trade while also allowing appropriate inspection of everyone crossing the border by vehicle or foot.

This rebuilding DEMANDS

1) Widening our highways and entry points by literally TEN TIMES, just to start with.

2) Increasing the number of security and border control personnel by literally 20 TIMES (probably 50x would be better)

I think Bardude employs some Illegals under the table in his landscape business I think thats why hes all for illegals its for his own pocketbook & undercut the other guy that plays by the rules...Florida is full of Illegals at pennies on the dollar with no extras & welfare & the emergency room to boot.

SH: Correctomundo. We have to keep the borders - in their current state - open, because billions in weekly international trade depend on it.

1) Thus the "Steve-plan" (which is hardly unique) that we modify our policies to Massively (emphasis intended) expand the legal border entry points and the border patrol and US Customs manpower. This way we can continue the international trade unabated while also being able to more peaceably and sensibly restrain illegal entry into the USA.

Unfortunately, the powers that be at the federal level simply won't make that a priority, preferring instead to channel a couple hundred BILLION per year into overseas military ventures with the alleged motivation that they are "protecting America".

2) We need to fucking (one profanity per "serious" post) get the hell out of these overseas countries and channel ALL that money into our southern border control and also into Mexico.

Instead of building infrastructure in Iraq and Afghanistan, we need to cooperatively build infrastructure in MEXICO so that the INCENTIVE (pardon my CAPS) to leave Mexico and enter the USA is greatly reduced.



But most certainly, we must with rather extreme prejudice reject the absurd notion that we can "shut down the border" or "deport all the illegals".

Both are so preposterous that it's litlle wonder neither Presidential candidate gives extremely short shrift to anyone lobbying for either or both.
