Trust me Fish, There are lots of players in LV that know how to play the game to perfection. I do agree with you that I almost never play the game unless I'm at a place that offers great promos. Why would I ? I've been here long enough to know all the secret places ! LOL Casinos however have no fear of clearly posting the 100 % plus payout tables as probably 99.8 percent of the players don't have a clue. But to say that there are only 100 people in the world that play it correctly is simply not up to date. I can tell you some interesting stories of who was playing right next to me ! LOL

It features "jacks-or-better" (JOB) which is the best one to play as a beginner due to low variance. Also go to the wizardsofodds page mentioned above and print out a basic strategy sheet. BTW, you can play bonus poker with the JOB strategy (there are a few small differences but really not worth learning as a recreational player). If possible play "full-pay" machines but you won't find many on the strip in lower denominations.
My other advice is to play where you stay and always use your players card to get mail offers and comps. I go to Vegas around 6 times a year and never pay for a room (Red Rock and Main Street Station) and rarely pay for a meal. I try to play video poker around 4 hours a day (usually $.25 level but sometimes higher) and enjoy the bartops because of the TVs and fast drink service. The rest of the time I'm playing live poker tournaments which is my passion but doesn't earn any comps.

Just returned from a 4 day trip there and loved it......no good VP other than some 99.90 and JOB machines. Hit a royal on the ten-play quarter JOB at Harrahs(Grand) and grinded out some profit on the NO LIMIT tables...........had a good time and picked up $1400 for trip. Hoping and praying I recieve some good mailers from a few of my stops.
