Although it isn't fake I can't line MMA and all that UFC stuff up against professional sports. I'd rather compare it to martial arts( another sport that doesn't get much coverage)

In anycase I much more enjoy boxing. Call me old fashioned or just old school (and i'm only 37!) MMA is just too much for my taste.

I strongly disgaree with you but that is how an intelligent person states their opinion. This board is full of threads today with people talking nonsense. State an opinion and move on.

The only bad thing about MMA getting more and more popular, are the increasing number of "tough" guys out there. Yeah we get it you train, day dream of fighting in the octagon with all the ladies watching.....BUT one thing 90% of these faggots have never even been in a fist fight! Oh yeah budday its all gonna work out as you planned it out in your head, strategically roll up your sleeve so the tribal is showin' yo, hit up the tanning salon, get eyebrows waxed (hair!?! no way that's not manly) "gonna go clubbin' with the boyz, drink some strawberry daquiris and mojitos, and totally start some shit, make the guy tap yo"

What percentage of MMA fights receive legitimate wagering odds accessible to mainstream bettors either in Vegas or offshore?

1%. Maybe even less. There are local shows everywhere.

For the 1st time ever, I agree with Skip, although I'd use the term "booked" rather than "fake", and not in all or even most cases. But in money cases, like Brock Lesnar, UFC's and Dana's Gold mine, I would use that term. Brock has been booked well, and will be until Bobby Lashley, a WWE face, is ready to challange him. Funny how UFC's ultimate money match will be between 2 "Rasslers". Anyone who thinks Dana was really upset at Brock's antics is ????. Other than the sponsor dissing, Dana was thrilled beyond belief at Brock's tirade, and probably gave him a bonus in their "dog whipping" session.

Say what. Upsets happen all the time. There was nothing fixed about any of the fights. There have been bad decisions like in all sports. But to say that Mir was set up to lose is crazy. Mir lost because Lesner is a monster that was to fast and to strong for him. Its that simple.

Tell that to the guys that get thier faces smashed in and still pull out a submission that it was set up.

Lashley will get destroyed by atleast 8-10 fighters right now in the UFC.

You can get a bet on UFC, Strikeforce, Affliction and the fights from Japan (Dream). Just like any other sport you can't bet on minot league baseball either.

Fans of this garbage are basically lower middle class to middle class trailer trash denizens of society who have excessive tattoos, drink too much, smoke, use drugs, beat their wives and/or girlfriends, don't use turn signals when they unsafely drive their unregistered and uninsured pick up trucks and have no driver's license or an expired license.
nice stereotype.

You guys are naive if you dont think dick's stereotypes are accurate. For every RightSide mma fan, there's 10 other joe dirts who hide the good-natured fans. It's the Nascar syndrome.

I dont believe this to be true at all. Now im not saying their isn't this type of fan, but you don't think every sport has their joe dirt fans? Every UFC fight I generally have a choice of 3-4 different places to go watch the fight, all with good guys, good jobs that just want to hang out, drink a few beers and play some cards.

Even when I have gone to local sports bars that are showing the fight (where I assume you'd see the most trash since its free to watch em) I haven't noticed an abudance of trashy people.

I change the channel when that guy opens his mouth. He's one of the most annoying morons on TV.
