Have played Caliente several times; once on a non descript Monday NFL game. The manager really delayed payout (couple of dimes) and eventually came through with 20's. It's a rather low life place & you should always be careful. Sundays are better because of larger US crowd. Boarder crossing can be an adventure also. Had my vehicle searched on one occasion.

As far as I know - there is no problem at Caliente - as far as getting paid. The owner is a stand up guy. They take a hell of a handle down there.
They may pay in small notes but they pay.
Now, the border, etc, is another thing - I only go down 2-3 times a year - to post up and to collect - so I don't have too many problems.
Mexico is like any other foreign country - if you cause trouble - you will go to jail. And it isn't like here.
They don't give bonuses, etc. But if you win they pay.
Also, if you like dogs, it is a great book - since they shade favorites.

Don't get tanked in TJ and drive home through San Diego. The CHP in San Diego is hot for DWIs. If you are hammered - stay in TJ at the Holdiay Inn - next to Caliente Sports Book.
The City of San Diego is bankrupt and is looking for money any way that they can get it.
If they stop you - you will go to jail, even if you are a .06. Then you will have to prove that you wern't an .08.
Believe me, you have more to fear in San Diego than Tijuana.
