theswami.....you are correct, people should not make decisions based entirely on someone elses opinion...

but unfortunately in the gambling business people do...on every level from who to bet on, to who to bet with...

look at the panam situation.(i am not blaming Shrink for panam folding)Shrink praised them and people listened.....i am saying this because what Shrink says about books can sway people one way or another....especially newbies....and Shrink knows this..

In case some of you didn't get the chance to read that 8 page thread, the following email was sent to me by a bookmaker who advertises here AFTER THEY READ MY ARTICLE in regards to VWAGER...

What would be their motive?
icon_confused.gif

I think Dalton bit off more than he could chew last year, in the way of advertising. He tried to be like "G" in advertising everywhere, but as you know this costs a ton. He ran up a lot of debt with advertisers such as Athlon and other publications. He settled with Athlon, but I know he still owes Lindeys a large sum from last year and another bookmaker 50 plus dimes.

I spoke with his attorney the other day and we were told by his attorney that he is in serious debt right now, and has a huge debt with the Caja (Costa Rica's version of the IRS). This morning as I was driving to work I noticed that he was installing a larger satellite on his roof. What is his priorities? I think that he lacks business sense, and doesn't know how to grow a business wisely.

PS. If you pass by his office (across the street from the mall) you'll notice some very expensive SUVs (including a Lexis) parked in his private parking lot, and at least 3 bodyguards dressed in black suits guarding the parking lot and the front door. This is a guy who wants to be just like G, but doesn't know how to get there.

DPO-

You are right..Shrink does have some level of power and must use it RESPONSIBLY. However, as I learned during the Royal situation in the fall, these guys are, no offense, whores to some degree. To put in a different way, Shrink and the Rx are not really "watchdogs" per se, they run a business and they generally run it wisely by not biting the hand(s) that feed them. They (Rx, Shrink, mods, etc.) also do yeoman's work when books do get into trouble and posters have trouble getting paid. They are truly in the middle and do a decent job of managing it. The only time I have a problem is when they try to play the "see what stand-up guys we are" routine when they move against a book. That works with many posters just like guarantees, locks, praises, vouching for various bookies, etc. With that said, some posters like me are a bit more cynical and take the "show me" attitude before making moves.

I'm all for personal responsibility and frankly too many posters are idiot degenerates looking for the easy way out and ready to blame someone else for the mud they are stuck in.

No matter the opinion of TheRx.com now or then, there is a group of mods here that does their best each day. Wilheim, Fishhead, and Bucsfan67 do an outstanding job of moderating the board. They are truly worthy of praise and kudos. I have been told so many times that I am guilty by association with the site.

If we are bad because we took a position that we all truly enjoy and work hard at, then we are just bad. I give thanks to each of these guys. They have a tough job certain days, but there are way many more good days than bad.

They should be treated by what they do and not what has been done by their predecessors.

It is hard to find a better group.

willy is a good kid, and a great fade this year in the NHL playoffs. He made me a ton this year..
icon_wink.gif
I have never seen anyone ever go 2-43 in a sequence before, but willy managed to do that. If I didn't see it, I wouldn't have ever believed it.

Not only is willy a good boy, but he is a funny guy too and how can we forget, the offical RX pic man.

Only willy can come up with some great pics when you need one..

See there ya go again with the nasty names, I mean toolheim is so original. For an attention whore I figured you could actually come up with something more original, go figure. We both know how totally full of shit you are, but it looks others will take a bit longer to figure it out, not a bit worried though. Hey I can't wait for the NFL to start to expose your lame ass. Have a nice summer Froggy. One other thing, I have forgot more about gambling than you will ever know.
