Guys, I missed my Triple Play with the Jets yesterday, BUT I did manage to play a moneyline parlay (5 TEAM)

I Had St Louis
Tennessee
Miami
Philadelphia
And Tampa

I risked 500 to win 1250. If Tampa wins, I win 1250. But, if they lose I get 0.

I'm thinking about heding my bet risking 250 to win 530 on NY Giants?

Should I do This? Or go for the gusto?

If you wagered the parlay and normally do not get in hedge situations, then I would definately hedge GB + and take the guaranteed money(Maybe all). If you often make parlays and teasers, then I would let it ride and stick with your 1st opinions. Had an interesting debate offshore recently about this and it was a mix of what to do. I always take the guaranteed money, but I do not get into hedge situations very often.

Good luck

i was in the same situation last night needing miami on the money line for a decent score. i thought about hedging washington on the money line and coming out with a small profit if they won. instead i hedged washington + 7 -100. i ended up with all the money. think tampa bay by a field goal and go for it

action, must hedge on last leg, must, must must, love the trips keep them coming

My usual response is: if you plan to hedge the last game of a parlay, why include it in the parlay in the first place?

For a guaranteed profit and hoping to hurt them more. Example: he can win 1250 or lose 500 right now but if he buys Gints to 7.5 he can do something like bet 530 +7.5 to win 350, now you got 1030 to win 1600 if TB wins by a TD or less, 1030 to win 220 if TB blows them out or 1030 to win 320 if NYG win. You can not loose. How many times would you take a wager that you can not loose? 100/100

Hey Action, do what we all try to do each week. That is, take the "Gambling" part out of the equation and walk away from the window with money.

This is a business deal inwhich you have to maximize your investment. Getting Nothing is not doing that. I would Hedge the Giants + the points to guarantee you walk away with money. How much you want to walk away with is up to you. BUT WALK AWAY WITH SOMETHING!!!!

anybody who's willing to risk betting a 5 team parlay at less than 2 to 1 return on their money;

really doesn't need any advice from this forum. I mean a 5 team teaser would have paid ?

oh well never mind. As P.T. Barnum once said, " there's one born every minute"

How strongly do you feel about a TB vicory?

If you feel very strongly about TB, I think you are right to bet the $250 on the Giants ML -- either win $1000 or essentially break even.

Feeling so-so on TB, then consider going with $500 on the Giant ML -- you either win $750 or win $560..a very solid option, IMHO.

I may be a big pussy, but in a similar situation I will generally hedge enough to cover the cost of my original bet -- it's a nice position to be in -- Congrats!!

Although I think TB wins, I would hedge. It is a small price to pay...you risk $250 to ensure you win cash. Good luck Action.

I do like taking the points for 2 reasons.

1. I think the Giants will cover.

2. You can win Both bets

Check out his games that are home:

StL- 3 in at buzzer/OT (forget which) decides it
Tenn - down 21-0 and pulls out a push or win depending on the 7 number
NO - 4th and goal from 1, TO's give Phlliy cover and victory
Miami - pulls it out of their ass SU as 6 fav

hedge it and good luck (do like SharkIV and/or buy some more points) that said TB in a blowout and you are cursing at the hedgers.

IF TAMPA WINS HEARTILY THEN YOU WIN.

IF GIANTS COVER THE SPREAD BUT DOES NOT

SU YOU ARE SAFE; IPSO FACTO, PLAY THE GIANTS

ATS AND YOU COULD WIN TWICE OR HEDGE

First of all I agree with sammy, secondly I agree with islander.

An old Jewish bookie in London once told me, " The only good bet is a hedged bet"
