The Marlins and the Nationals play game 3 of their four-game series in Washington tonight. We will be on the Nationals tonight -1 1/2 runs, and here is why. The starting pitchers for tonight’s game are for the Marlins LH Adam Conley (4-4, 5.10 ERA) and he will face the Nationals LH Gio Gonzalez (9-5, 2.66 ERA) Conley, although pitching well of late has really struggled against Washington. In 4 career starts against the Nationals he has a nasty 8.00 ERA with a WHIP of 1.889. As for Gonzalez, he took a no-hitter going into the 8th inning against the Marlins on July 31st but unfortunately gave up a hit although he did get the win. This year Gonzalez has faced the Marlins now three times. In 21 innings pitched he has only given up three runs. We look for Gonzalez to have another quality start again tonight. The line at the time of this writing is -180. As our clients know we never lay that type of juice, so we will be more than happy to take the plus money on the run line with the Nationals.

LISTED PITCHERS: Porcello/Odorizzi
The Red Sox play the final game of a two-game set in Tampa Bay tonight. The Red Sox have now won 7 in a row after last night’s 2-0 victory over the Rays. We are going to be with them tonight as they win number 8. The starting pitchers for tonight’s game Red Sox RH Rick Porcello (5-14, 4.70 ERA) and he will face the Rays RH Jake Odorizzi (6-4, 4.47 ERA)
Porcello definitely has not had the season as he did last year when he took home the Cy Young Award. He had a rough start in his last game, however he has been pitching much better in the last month. His ERA for the month of June was an ugly 6.63 ERA, in July he knocked that down over 3 1/2 runs to have an ERA of 3.06. One of those starts in July was against these Rays in TB where he allowed only one run in eight innings pitched. We will be looking for Porcello to have a similar outcome tonight.
As for Odorizzi, he is just coming off the DL. The last time he faced Boston was on July 7 and he allowed seven runs over 4 2/3 innings. With Odorizzi not 100% look for the Red Sox to take advantage of him again tonight. The Red Sox All-Star second baseman Dustin Pedroia came off the DL last night and was DH. Tonight he will join his teammates on the field and we see that is just another reason to be on the Red Sox tonight.
Backing our selection is the fact that the Red Sox are 9-2 in Porcello’s last 11 starts with 5 days of rest and the fact that the Rays are 0-4 in Odorizzi’s last 4 home starts.
So let’s get the job done with the Boston Red Sox.

For those who like to keep track at all Mighty Quinn, he won in miracle fashion as a -260 favorite last night with the Indians scoring 4 in the Bottom 9. So today he went back to the well with the Indians as a hefty favorite.. They are currently in Extra Innings, now trailing 3-2 going into Bottom 12. They had a 2-1 lead into the Top 9.
