Texas just flat out has the better line-up and bullpen right now than Oakland. The A's have not been a good road team this season, while the Rangers are 35-20 at home this season. Texas also has won four of their last five games and is coming off of an exciting extra innings win last night against Oakland. The starting pitchers are basically a wash in this match-up with both having relatively similar statistics. Both pitchers have done fairly well against their opposing line-ups, but Trevor Cahill was hit very hard by Texas in a start last season. I feel that Texas has a hotter hitting line-up now, and Colby Lewis has the potential to shutdown the A's with his good strikeout-to-walk ratio. Also, I feel that the game will be fairly tight until the last few innings when Texas will use their better bullpen and better hitting to win the game.

Top pick: #8 (ZOSOGOOD) - Philly shipper has spent his entire 14 race career (2-2-1) out of town facing "open" foes at a variety of different venues. Gelding by "Malibu Moon" has been with some sharp trainers, Greg Foley, Steve Margolis, and now with Bruce Levine. He finished 2nd last out racing for $15K at Philadelphia Park going two-turns in his first for Levine and he's nicely spotted this afternoon in this entry-level allowance for state-breds. Has a nice local drill since coming here and this seven furlong trip looks perfect. The top selection.
2nd pick: #7 (Fortunate Run) - He finished a solid 2nd at Belmont at this level going a mile June 11th, then had a "troubled" trip last out under the same conditions. Has a pair of fine drills since that effort and he'll race with his blinkers removed this afternon. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Steal the Shot ) - Lightly raced and well-bred he has some early speed and will be cutting-back a furlong after a good try at this level going a mile. His trainer (Rich Schosberg) won this past Monday's stakes with Giant Moon for this same owner (Al Fried Jr.).
4th pick: #5 (Heavenly Blaze) - Longshot broke his maiden here last year in the best effort of his 12 race career. Runs 2nd back off a long layoff ( 8 months) and has some back races that give him a shot at a big price.
