Reasoning: There’s no Alex Rodriguez and Tampa Bay clearly has the advantage on the mound with David Price against Freddy Garcia but if you want to give me such a price back with the New York Yankees then on principle I’ll back them.

Certainly Joe Girardi’s team is not invincible as we saw last night but they are borderline great and it’s not like the Rays are exactly an offensive juggernaut that should just explode out there against a guy with an era in the mid 3’s. I can’t say that I fully trust the aging Garcia but he has been a lot better than expected in Pinstripes and I’m willing to give him a shot here at Tropicana Field plus a pretty penny. I’m not asking the Yankee righthander to outpitch the great David Price but at this number to get Teixeira, Jeter, Cano, Swisher and the Bombers is a must play any day of the week.

If Price is on his game and shuts down today’s visitor then I’ll tip my cap. But in the end whenever I can get a takeback like this with the Yankees and a competent enough hurler then I am going to play them, win or lose.

The last time David Price pitched against New York, he gave up Jeter's 3000th hit in a game that Derek Jeter dominated at the plate and won singlehandedly. Price, however, actually pitched well in that game and I expect him to get the better of Jeter tonight. I highly doubt he will again go 5 for 5. The Rays got a big win at home last night and should cash in again tonight. Take Tampa Bay.
