Phoenix Suns vs. New Jersey Nets (NBA) - Mar 31, 2010 7:35 PM EDT
Play: Point Spread: 7/-105 New Jersey Nets Pick Title: Phoenix Suns vs. New Jersey Nets
The New Jersey Nets will finish this year as either the worst team in NBA history, or one of the worst. They have just eight wins, and as the season winds down they need two more to reach 10, avoiding the mark set of just nine wins by Philadelphia. What has gone unnoticed is the fact that this team has improved considerably, and where it is showing up is getting the money. The Nets seem to stay in games only to lose, but getting 7 or more points they are 14-5 ATS in their last 19. The Suns have won eight straight, but looking at three bad teams they have played in their last four games, the Bulls, T-Wolves and Golden State, none of the margins have been greater than 6 points. The Nets have been hanging around, and likely will do so again. New Jersey gets the call.

The Lakers have played under in 9 of 10 games this year as an underdog and 12 of 17 times in the second half vs winning teams. Both games here the last 2 years have played under and this one should stay under the number as well. On Wednesday we have another Huge 96% Cutting edge NBA System Dominator that leads the card. We cashed our 4th straight night in the NBA as Ok.City took apart the Sixers. Tonight we do it again,in another game that should not be close. Jump on and cash out.. For the Bonus Play take the under in the Lakers at Hawks game. BOL GC

3-Unit Play #506 Take Atlanta -1 Over LA Lakers
5-Unit NBA Game of the Week #514 Take Miami/Detroit OVER 187 ½

NOTE: We posted these picks about 5 minutes early and there was a big jump in this line, so to be fair to our customers we have posted this at the current line and this one will be graded at 187 1/2. Still like this pick at this number, but of course it would have been much better to get it at 185 1/2 where it was about :30 before posting.

“MORNING MOVES” NEWSLETTER & LINE-PREDICTION for WEDNESDAY MARCH 31st, 2010

HANDICAPPING : “NBA TEAMS ARE GIVING UP…TO END THE SEASON”

Good Morning Ladies & Gentlemen…Well we had our 1st Overall losing day in over a week on Tuesday, so I’m not very happy this morning…Because even though I have gotten extremely good at trying to always look at the big picture…and keep everything in perspective…sometimes it’s difficult because when you are at war against the odds makers each and every day…things have a way of getting personal…

So when I lose…it’s never about the money…Because I realized a long time ago that money is just a way to keep score…and know whether or not you are truly winning the war…Instead for me, it becomes about beating the number…And knowing that I was able to get the best of the betting market…

This is why this morning…rather than being happy about having won 7 of 8 days…And being 24hrs away from turning in my 3rd Straight Winning Month for 2010...I’m instead feeling like I need to get some revenge for last night…Which I guess isn’t too much of a bad thing…

So let’s get right to today’s topic…so I can get right back to work and see if I can get my Revenge tonight…

This late in the NBA Season…”MOTIVATION” becomes very critical…

And as a handicapper…you must definitely put more weight on “Motivation”, than you would during other parts of the season…

The bottom line is that many of the teams will actually “QUIT” when they get down to the last 2 weeks of the season…and they are well aware that there is no post-season on the horizon…

And it’s these teams that we want to go against…Especially in the Dog role…

I say this because we usually start off by looking to back dogs…But what I always preach that we want from our Dogs are the same 2 things…1.) The ability to win the game out-right…2.) The motivation to give us 48min of effort…

Because even if they don’t win the game SU…if you can get an entire game’s worth of effort from your DOG…then that “back-door” will always stay open…And the chance for a cover will always be there…

But when you don’t get that maximum effort…and you won’t from those teams that quit on the season…then what happens more times than not…is a team down 10, finds themselves losing the game by 15-20 pts…Because they have no drive to try and come back…

This is why you want to isolate those teams…and find opportunities to go against them…

The teams that usually end up “quitting” on the season…tend to be “veteran” teams…that came into the season with “Playoff Expectations”…

These are usually established teams that aren’t in the rebuilding stage…But instead, just couldn’t get it together due to injuries or whatever else…So what happens is that the players on these teams really have nothing left to prove…And they instead are looking forward to the season ending as quickly as possible…So that they can go ahead with their vacations…then begin working on next season…

Because young teams…and those who didn’t come into the season expecting to make the playoffs…they still have much to prove and accomplish…And many times, they get a chance during the final weeks to prove to their coaches or owners that they deserve to start or to get more minutes…Regardless the reasons, more times than not…these younger, rebuilding teams…still have plenty to play for in those final couple of games…So motivational concerns aren’t there, like they would be for the more seasoned clubs whose season didn’t go well…

Finally, we also can’t forget that many times…these teams that “quit”…will also be made the Favorite…Reason being, they have the “name” and are playing at home…many times against what is considered an inferior opponent…

These are also profitable opportunities for bettors…Because there is a lot of value on the Dog in this spot…

The reason for this is that the last thing you want to do with an “Un-Motivated” team…is “lay points”…Because when there is no motivation to win…there is even less motivation to cover…And as bettors, the “cover” is ultimately the only thing that matters…

So make sure that you go ahead and isolate those teams that you believe are “un-motivated” to win…And look for opportunities over these next couple of games…to FADE them…Don’t be afraid to lay some chalk against them…and don’t be afraid to back the inferior “perceived” team against them getting points either…

You will see plenty of opportunities to do so over the next 7-10 days…And you can add this handicapping concept to your arsenal for all sports, because it’s something that we see over and over again…And every year, for some reason or other…bettors continue to be surprised when these “marquee” teams do terrible ATS down the stretch…But you won’t !! Instead, you will beat the books and turn a profit by finding positions to go against them…

Thanks again for all your support…and best of luck, Vegas-Runner…

LINE-PREDICTION :

1.) 501-502 UNDER 190 PHI/CHA

This total opened at 190...where it currently sits…But according to my sources, that won’t be the case for too long…Because the Wiseguys are looking hard at the UNDER…And with betting volume low, due to the betting public awaiting the Final Four…and being a bit burnt-out from all that wagering…ANY and ALL “Steam Plays” should get plenty of RESPECT…So with that said, when this buy-order get’s executed…we should see the books drop this Total…VR

2.) 513-514 OVER 187 MIA/DET

This total opened at 186 and immediately took some Wiseguy money on the Over…But from what I’ve gathered, the Betting Syndicates aren’t done taking advantage of what they believe is a lot of Value on the Over…And with any public money bet on this total, also expected to be on the Over…the books should be forced to adjust this total even more…So I expect to see it move up higher than what we are seeing right now…VR
