Colorado State Rams -3.5 over TCU HORNED FROGS, 20 dimes
Line taken from Oddsmaker.com at 9:00 AM EST
TCU's pitiful season went from bad to terrible after they lost their last game by ten to the lowly Wyoming Cowboys. The Horned Frogs aren't doing anything right. Their fundamentals, defense, and ball security were awful. Seriously, who commits 18 turnovers and gives up 9 three pointers against Wyoming?! This abysmal performance made it 8 straight losses for TCU, and made their conference record 1-10. They're not fairing well against the number either, as they have only covered in 7 out of 20 lined games this year, and are 4-6 ATS at home. Things don't appear to be getting easier for the Horned Frogs with Colorado State coming into town. The Rams are one of the top teams in the Mountain West, winning 6 out of their last 8 games and covering in 3 out of the last 4. On the road this season, Colorado St. is 6-2 against the number. Overall, the Rams have been a great team to back at the betting window, running at a 13-6-1 clip. The 6'9'', 245 lb forward Andy Ogide is in position to have another fantastic game against TCU's terrible shooting defense. This Colorado St. star has been easily posting double digits in conference games. In the last matchup, TCU had no answer for Ogide, as he chalked up a 17 point, 11 rebound double-double. Colorado State needs to finish this season with some resume-building, convincing victories if they want to secure a good spot in the big dance. Look for them to come out with some real intensity against an anemic TCU squad.
Los Angeles Lakers -11 over CLEVELAND CAVALIERS, 10 dimes
The Lakers are coming off a much needed day of rest after what Phil Jackson called an "embarrassing" performance against the Bobcats. It was the Lakers 4th game in 5 nights, and Kobe was hindered by flu-like symptoms. You can remember me taking the Bobcats in that spot, with good reason. Today, Chang is backing the Lakers. LA has had a rough and tumble road trip, and even though they dropped their last 2 games, this matchup against Cleveland should be just what the doctor ordered. Cleveland had the look of a team that was finally coming out of the depths of their own little hell, that was until they got drubbed by the lowly Wizards at home (the first road win by the Wizards in 26 attempts!) Cleveland's lineup is miles behind LA's in terms of talent and leadership. Kobe is healthy once again, the Lakers have had a day off, and you know Phil Jackson lit into his team about the loss to Charlotte. How could we forget the last time these two teams met, when LA laid a 55 point whipping on the Cavs out in LA? The disparity is high, and I very much expect at least a 15 point road victory from the Lakers here. Lay the big chalk.
