Bonus Play from Strike Point Sports. Take #515 Oklahoma City (-2.5) over Houston (8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15) Houston is playing their third game in four nights and their first home game in a while. They will be exhausted after playing Memphis last night. The Thunder meanwhile will be playing just their second game since Feb. 10th. Oklahoma City has done an outstanding job of covering these square lines. The Thunder have covered four of their last five games where the line is less than three points in their favor. The public will be all over the Thunder here, but in this situation I believe they are right. OKC is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games. This is a tough matchup for the Rockets as they seem to be at a deficit at each of the five positions on the floor. The Thunder bench should also find success versus the Rockets as well. Don't worry about laying the points in this one. The Favorite is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings between the two. Visit Doc's Sports for a free $60 in member selections, www.docsports.com

Ottawa +119 over FLORIDA

The Panthers have started winning again after going through a long stretch of mediocrity. Prior to its current three-game winning streak in which they've outscored their opponenets 10-3, Florida had won just eight of its last 24 games. Even during this modest streak, they've been anything but dominating. They were outshot in all three games and mustered just 19, 20 and 23 shots on net respectively. Florida is missing three key defensemen in Jason Garrison, Ed Jovanovski and Dmitry Kulikov. They're a hard-working club and they're never an easy out but they're a lot more appealing taking back a tag as oppose to laying one. The Senators are back on track with five out of a possible six points in their past three. They played last night in Tampa and crusied to a 4-0 victory. Lastly, the Sens own this foe. They've beaten them twice this season and they've beaten them in eight straight now. Nothing suggests this one will be any different. Play: Ottawa +119 (Risking 2 units).

Toronto +107 over EDMONTON

The Leafs losing streak hit four games last night after a 5-1 defeat in Calgary. Toronto has been oputscored in their past two games by an ugly count of 10-1. Goaltending has become the biggest issue, as James Reimer has been shaky and Jonas Gustavsson doesn't perform well under pressure. Note to Ron Wilson - when Reimer was out and Gustavsson knew he was going to be the everyday goaltender, he was brilliant. Despite losing its last two, the Leafs still created many scoring chances. They ran into two hot goaltenders in Carey Price and Mikka Kirprusoff last night. Tonight it's likely going to be Nikolai Khabibulin for the Oilers so you can expect the Maple Leafs to bury a few pucks here. The Oilers return home from a three-game trip to Toronto, Detroit and Ottawa. They went 1-2 on said trip and that inlcludes a 6-3 loss in Toronto. Like Florida, Edmonton is just so much more appealing as a dog. In the favorite's roll, they've won just six of its past 24 games and that stat alone tells us that betting against them when they're favored is a winning proposition over time. Play: Toronto +107 (Risking 2 units).

SPORTS WAGERS

NEW JERSEY +139 over Memphis

The Nets stock has dipped dramatically with six straight losses. Their last two defeats have been by 17 and 14 points respectively. Toss in a 21-point loss to the Bulls and back-to-back losses to the then 4-21 Pistons and it makes it hard to pull the trigger on them here. The Grizzlies come in winners of three of four. They beat the Rockets last night by 10 and they beat the Pacers last Friday. However, the Grizz will play their third game in four nights here. They've played five straight at home and after this single game, they will host the Nuggets on Friday. This game becomes nothing but a nuisance and one that we may find Memphis disinterested in against a perceived weak team from the East. The Grizzlies have just five road wins in 14 games and the Nets are much better than their recent run indicates. They have some healthy bodies back, they're rested and they'll be ready to go tonight in this favorable spot. Play: New Jersey +139 (Risking 2 units).

ST. BONAVENTURE +102 over Temple Pinnacle
Temple is coming off that big win over Xavier. Combine that with the Owls current eight game win streak and they appear to be one of the better bets of the night. Most of those victories were of the blowout variety. However, most of them were against the bottom feeders in this conference and there's always a price to pay when you win easy against poor competition The A-10 is so tight right now with as many as seven teams having a chance to finsh first in the conference. So when we have one in that group team favored on the road against another in that group, we'll confidently endorse the host. The Bonnies are just two games back of first place Temple. They have just one loss at home (9-1) all season and that was a narrow two-point defeat to a very good N.C. State team. The Bonnies have not lost a conference home game all year. They play a strong brand of defense and in what has to be viewed as their biggest game in a while, expect nothing less than a full and inspired effort. Play: #557 St. Bonaventure +102 (Risking 2 units).

We're also playing the following games:

N. ILLINOIS +8 over Western Michigan Pinnacle
Play: #562 Northern Illinois +8 (Risking 2.1 units to win 2).

TULANE +7½ over Memphis Pinnacle
Play: #574 Tulane (Risking 2.16 units to win 2).

Rockets Odds and Betting Predictions

By Doc’s Sports

It’s the second of a back-to-back on Wednesday night for both Oklahoma City and Houston as the Thunder hold the NBA’s best record after destroying Utah last night while the Rockets finished a season-high six-game road trip with a loss in Memphis. This game begins a six-game homestand for Houston while it’s just a quick one-game roadie for OKC, which is then back home for five.

In my opinion, Houston is the Atlanta of the Western Conference. The Rockets are good but not championship contenders. And they never seem bad enough to land that superstar at the top of the draft – they thought they had in Yao Ming but we all know how that turned out. Houston, which has a payroll in the bottom third of the league, seems to be mentioned in nearly every blockbuster trade. They were heavy after Carmelo Anthony a year ago and were supposed to get Pau Gasol in that aborted Chris Paul-to-the-Lakers trade this offseason. It’s just that Houston doesn’t have young talent or an emerging star to give up. Kevin Martin and Luis Scola are good players but not building blocks.

Still, look for the Rockets to be active before next month’s trade deadline, probably more as a three-team trade facilitator. The Thunder are championship contenders as they are, although they would no doubt like to get a backup point guard with Eric Maynor lost for the year.

How the Teams Enter

OKC ended a five-game trip of its own Friday with a 101-87 win at Utah (rather odd to play the same team in a “home-and-home” four days later). The Thunder improved to 12-5 on the road (10-7 ATS) and 5-1 after a loss this year. It also locked in Coach Scott Brooks to lead the Western Conference all-stars for the Feb. 26 game in Orlando (coaches from team with best records in each conference as of Feb. 15).

Houston went into Memphis off a 106-97 loss at Golden State that ended the Rockets’ three-game winning streak. That was the most points the Rockets had allowed since late January. The Rockets’ 41.3 percent shooting was their worst in eight games since the Jan. 25 loss to the Bucks ended their seven-game winning streak. It seems like Houston has problems with teams that prefer half-court play.

Betting Story Lines

There was some good news in Houston’s loss Sunday. For one, Scola had a season-high 13 rebounds after having not had double-digit boards in a game since Jan. 14. And after four games in which Martin averaged four points, making just 15.6 percent of his shots, he made 7-of-16 shots, going 9-of-10 from the line against the Warriors, scoring 28 points. But keep an eye on his status for Wednesday as Martin battled through back spasms through much of the game, which left him grimacing in pain afterward. The back-to-back could really hit him hard.

OKC is pretty healthy but is hoping to have defensive stalwart Thabo Sefolosha back soon. Sefolosha has missed nine straight starts (including Tuesday) with a foot injury and last played in the first half of a Jan. 27 game at Golden State. Conditioning has become a concern because Sefolosha has only been able to shoot free throws and set shots. Daequan Cook has been starting at shooting guard. Cook is a much better shooter but nowhere near the defender.

The Thunder and Rockets have played twice this season, both OKC wins. The teams played a home-and-home back-to-back on Jan. 6 and 7. The first night in Oklahoma City, the Thunder won, 109-94 (it wasn’t that close), behind 26 points from Kevin Durant in just 28 minutes. Martin was held to just 13 for Houston. The next night at Houston’s Toyota Center, the Thunder won, 98-95. Durant led the way again with 27, including a key late jumper and free throws. That was the game in which Maynor was hurt. Both games went ‘under’ the total (201.5 and 206.5), with each covering at home. Houston was +5.5 in its home game (it has lost just three times at home this year) and +8.5 on road.

Betting Odds and Key Trends

OKC opened as 3.5-point favorite with the total at 202.5. Rockets are 16-13 ATS overall and 9-4 at home. Thunder are 16-12 ATS overall and 10-7 on road. ‘Over/under’ records: OKC 14-14, HOU 10-19.

The Thunder are 4-1 ATS in second of a back-to-back. Rockets are 6-1 ATS in past seven in those situations. The over is 4-1 in OKC’s past five road games. The under is 4-0 in Houston’s second of a back-to-back. The home team has covered seven of the past eight meetings. The under is 6-2 in past eight in Houston.

Betting Prediction

OKC should have the fresher legs, and it’s the younger team regardless. Because of the lockout-shortened and compacted season, Tuesday night was the only time this season, excluding the all-star break and the season opener, that the Thunder will have had three days off between games. Meanwhile, this will be Houston’s third game in four nights and the Rockets actually have to travel farther to get home than OKC will to get to Houston after its game Tuesday. So I love the Thunder here. And the under.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Orlando Magic
The upstart Philadelphia 76ers (20-9, 18-10-1 ATS) will look to increase their win streak to three on Wednesday night when they invade Orlando to battle the recently surging Magic (18-11, 16-13 ATS); the Amway Center festivities are set to begin at 7:00 ET.

The Sixers took baby steps last season in getting the franchise back on track by posting a 41-41 SU record in the regular season before falling in the conference quarterfinals to the Miami Heat in five games. Head Coach Doug Collins and his staff have done such wonders with this squad in such a short time that the Sixers are now a viable threat out of the Eastern Conference. Though Philly has only registered three straight up wins against teams ranked in Sagarins Top 10, theyll look to close out this road trip a perfect 3-0 after going into both Cleveland and Charlotte and posting dubs. The triumphs improved the 76ers to 7-4 SU & 6-4-1 ATS away from the Wells ***** Center. The experience of both Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand has meshed superbly with up and comers Jrue Holiday, Jodie Meeks, and Louis Williams that Philadelphia ranks amongst the best in the league at both ends of the court.

The roller coaster season that the Magic seem to be on looks to be in another uptick with Head Coach Stan Van Gundys troops posting wins in six of their last nine games (5-3 ATS). Dwight Howard and his mates will take to the hardwood tonight off a solid home win and cover against Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves their last time out. The win was their second in a row which has Orlando in a position to rattle off its fourth 3+ win streak of the season with a victory this evening. Since giving up 103 points to the Wizards back on February 1st, the Magic have only conceded 100 or more points to an opponent once in their last seven games; it occurred in a 107-102 overtime defeat to the Clippers. With Orlandos defense allowing just under 92.0 PPG during that stretch, points should be hard to come by here with the Sixers allowing the second fewest points overall in the league (86.8 PPG). The Magic have won 10 of their 16 home games on the year but only covered seven of those games.

The first meeting between these teams saw the Sixers win an ugly 74-69 affair that saw them come up just short of covering the closing 7.5-point spread; the under cashed with ease and has now come in each of the L/5 times these teams faced one another regardless of venue. The win snapped the Sixers three-game losing streak to the Magic, and allowed the underdog to come out on top for the fourth time in the L/5 meetings. Philly has gone a dominating 15-6 ATS its L/21 against Eastern Conference foes, but Orlando has covered seven of its L/10 versus +.600 road teams.

Game: Richmond at St. Louis (8:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: Richmond +14 (-110)

The Richmond Spiders made a deep run in the NCAA Tournament a year ago, but have suffered heavy losses entering this season. They have struggled to the .500 mark so far on the season, but have remained competitive with just three losses on the season, enough to keep them from covering the huge number placed against them here. St. Louis has had a remarkable year having already reached the 20 win plateau and will be NCAA Tournament bound. The Spiders have had a lot of bite in the role of a dog for quite some time entering this one at 45-22-2 ATS as a dog in their last 69 as well as 34-16-2 ATS as a dog vs. a team over .600. The Billikens have been a bit soft after a cover, at just 2-5 ATS in their last seven. Play on Richmond.
