Utah +17½ over Boise St.

Well, one really has to wonder what state of mind the Broncos will be in after their aspirations of appearing in a major bowl game disappeared after that loss to Nevada. History is lined with teams under similar conditions and more often than not that disappointment is reflected in their Bowl-game performance. So, yeah, Boise St is the better team and yeah they can hang a 50 or more on anyone it seems but don’t count out the Utes. Come post-season, something clicks in with this pooch. Utah has won nine straight Bowl games. They upset Bama two years ago as a 10-point dog and they beat them by two TD’s. Utah is without its #1 QB Jordan Wynn but so what, as backup Terrance Cain is not much of a downgrade, if at all with a 9-1 record as a starter. Isn’t it interesting that the Broncos only loss this year came in Nevada and instead of playing in the Cotton, Sugar or Orange Bowl they end up playing in the Las Vegas Bowl? In any event, the Utes thrive this time of year and should make this one scary close simply because Boise St is not likely to bring the knock-out punch that they employed in their quest to make it to a major Bowl game. The Utes also have a ton of fight in them. Play Utah +17½ (Risking 2.2 units to win 2).

Syracuse is 12-0, but just 2-7 vs spread as favorite, with home wins by 22-19-11-3-20-6-6 points in lined games.

Michigan State hasn't played in 11 days; they were struggling until then, beating Oakland by a point after 14-point loss to Syracuse; Spartans are 8-3 playing #24 schedule, but they're just 2-6 as a favorite. Texas is 2-2 against teams ranked in top 61; they beat Michigan State by 11 LY, after losing to the Spartans the previous three years by 2-6-4 points.

10-0 Central Florida has only two wins over teams ranked higher than #115 UMass; they beat Florida by 3, Miami by 6. Knights beat UMass 84-67 at home in LY'sseason opener. UCF has played #299 schedule; they use lot of guys. UMass lost last three games after 6-0 start, losing at home to Maine and by 25 to Seton Hall in last game.

This is first road game of year for Lousivlle squad that played first ten games in new arena; they beat Western Kentucky 102-75 LY, avenging 68-54 loss from year before. Cardinals are 9-1 playing #202 schedule. WKU lost five of last seven games; they're 0-3 vs spread as underdogs this season. Louisville is 4-4 vs spread when they're favored.
