I continue to believe Ohio is too talented to sink any further in the MAC. They should also have a sufficient reservoir of angst to unload on a hapless road team like EMU. Romp alert.


Miami +1.5

Apparently, the Tar Heels have finally turned to a freshman PG to replace the ineffective Larry Drew. This middle of the season transition spells trouble for a team that is hit and miss on the road. Especially with Miami hungry for an ACC win.

This SMU team has shown that they can shoot the lights out this season. They are coming off of a game where they just shot nearly 70% from the field! I expect them to continue with the hot hand against Tulsa. SMU is ranked 10th in the NCAA in 3 point percentage at over 40%!!! Consider also, that Tulsa doesn't guard the outside shot particularly well.

I love the way that they play defense in the paint as well. They, like Tulsa, have a tough time guarding the perimeter, but handle business down low. (SMU - 62.5 points allowed per game). I can easily see this game turning into a 3 point shooting contest... That is a contest I wouldn't want to be in against the Mustangs.

Neither team has ATS stats on their side this season, so don't go looking for trends. This is just a pure strengths vs. weakness game.

I caution you on this game. I have a feeling that the line is going up with this one, as most of the "experts" and public will be on Tulsa. I think you may get some extra value on this game if you wait. Getting this game at +12 or +12.5 would be an absolute gift so it may be prudent to wait.
(If you do see it start to dip on some books, take it at 11)
