Clients; Well we have released 8 MLB plays ytd thus far and have went 6-1-1. With the 1 push being the Red Sox on Monday being rained out and we didn’t come back to them unfortunately on Tuesday. We still got the 3-0 sweep up $350 and a total now of $635 in MLB.

All together we are up for the month of April $495 as Ncaa set us back a bit, so we are glad that is over. Kansas City Royals (100)
Wed Apr 8 '09 8:10p

The Chicago White Sox rallied late yesterday behind an eighth-inning three-run bomb by Jim Thome to beat the Kansas City Royals 4-2, but we look for the Royals to even this series tonight.Kansas City actually had its hitting shoes on yesterday, but they simply could not get the big hit, leaving 12 men on base. We feel they will break through today in support of Zack Greinke, who was very solid when reinstated in the starting rotation last season, posting a nice 3.47 ERA and 1.28 WHIP.This marked the second straight year that Grienke had an ERA below 4.00 (3.69 in 2007 splitting time between the rotation and bullpen), and remember that he was still a teenager when he came up to the majors, so he has lots of upside. He closed out 2008 with seven consecutive Quality Starts, including for scoreless outings in that stretch.Gavin Floyd is another of those pitchers that we simply do not trust after having a career year seemingly out of nowhere last season. In fact, Floyd still has a career ERA of 4.98 even after inexplicably going 17-8 with a 3.84 ERA for the White Sox last season. He did wear down considerably late in the year though, with just two Quality Starts in his last seven outings. While some of that had to do with fatigue, we also feel that some had to do with Floyd regressing to his normal level and we look for the Royals to take advantage of that tonight.

1 Unit Bonus Play on Suns/Hornets UNDER 221.5
The Hornets have been an unders machine, going under in 11 of their last 14 games. While Phoenix likes to push the tempo, it hasn't been as effective on the road in doing so against good defensive teams. The Hornets are allowing just 91.3 ppg at home this season. New Orleans is 13-4 UNDER in home games versus explosive offensive teams - scoring 103+ points/game over the last 2 seasons and 6-1 UNDER in its last 7 home games. Bet the Under tonight.

1 Unit Bonus Play on Celtics -10.5
Boston has not played in 5 days and that will be a huge factor tonight as they will be hungry and healthy when they return to the court. This is an important game because the Magic are just a game behind for the No. 2 spot in the East and the Celtics don't want to lose that position as it means home court if the two teams meet in the postseason. Boston has had New Jersey's number, going 9-2 SU and 8-3 ATS over the last 3 seasons and the Celtics already have 2 wins over New Jersey by 20 or more points this season. Plays Against - Road underdogs (NEW JERSEY) - off a home win against a division rival against an opponent off a home win by 10 points or more are 34-11 ATS the last 5 seasons. Lay the number.
Black widow 1* on San Antonio Spurs -2
San Antonio is a very small home favorite tonight simply because Manu Ginobli has been pronounced out for the season. But this Spurs’ team still has plenty of talent to win, and they proved that last night with a dominant 99-89 road win at Oklahoma City. The Spurs will be playing with revenge in mind after losing by 18 points in their last meeting with the Blazers, a 102-84 road loss at Portland. But that was a rare loss for the Spurs in this rivalry, as San Antonio has won 8 of the last 10 in this series. Over the last 3 seasons, San Antonio has won all 5 of their home meetings with the Blazers. Portland is receiving too much respect here from the linesmakers, as they are just 18-21 SU on the road this season. San Antonio is 17-5 ATS (+11.5 Units) in home games when playing against a good team (Win Pct. 60% to 70%) - 2nd half of the season over the last 3 seasons. The Spurs defend their home court as well as anyone this late in the season. Take San Antonio and lay the points.

The NBA is almost finished with the regular season. But the sharp handicappers take advantage of the last few games as motivation wanes for some teams or players. Today Memphis and Orlando are both traveling on back to back games. On top of that both teams lost last night! Lets look at records and recent trends to this game:
Team records:

Memphis: 22-55 SU, 36-40-1 ATS

Orlando: 57-20 SU, 48-28-1 ATS

Recent Trends:

-Grizzlies are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as an underdog.

-Grizzlies are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

-Grizzlies are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games as a road underdog.

-Magic are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite.

-Grizzlies are 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings.

Favorite is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings.

Lately Memphis and Rookie sensation OJ Mayo have really been playing well. Even though they have nothing to play for Memphis is playing motivated. Orlando is pretty much locked in to there playoff spot and will win this game but no way they cover this spread. Lately ORL has been preparing for the playoffs and don't have near the scoring punch that they did mid season. Today Mayo will go off for 25 plus and keep them within this 13 point spread no problem. SCORE ORL 96 - MEM 90

Who will cover

NY Mets at CINCINNATI (-110) By Drew Gordon, Featured Handicapper
2-0 Freebie Sweep last night, as part of my 4-0 Sweep across the board with paid and free releases Tuesday! FREE winners included the Rockets over the Magic 93-83 and the Red Sox over the Rays 5-3 ! More to come Wednesday...

Good spot to back the Reds at home here, as stud Edinson Volquez makes his debut following a great 2008 season, that saw him go 17-6 with a 3.21 ERA! While its true he tired down the stretch last season, when he was fresh, he was great, posting a 2.29 ERA before the All-Star Break! Looking over his Spring, you can't help but be impressed, allowing just 1 run over 19 innings, and looking like a pitcher on the rise in 2009.

The Mets Mike Pelfrey was plagued by inconsistency last season, and after watching him this Spring, I'm hardly confident he'll come out of the gate hot in this one. Note, in his final Spring start he got rocked 8 runs on 10 hits over just 4 innings... So be forewarned, Pelfrey's going to need some time before getting it right. Pelfrey lost both starts against the Reds last season & was especially poor in Cincinnati, getting tagged 5 runs on 6 hits in 7 innings, incl. 3 dingers!

While we got to see the Mets revamped bullpen get the save last night, look for the Reds to jump on Pelfrey in this one. Cincy is a young team, but they've got enough bats with Bruce and company to get it done in this one... Leave it to Volquez and the Red 'pen to take care of the rest.

Take Cincinnati behind Volquez over the NY Mets and Pelfrey in this MLB match up.

2? CINCINNATI

Chicago (-140) at HOUSTON By Chris Jordan, Featured Handicapper
The low number comes in tonight between these NL Central rivals, as we’re banking on Brian Moehler and Ted Lilly to proceed in a pitchers’ duel. After all, looking at last season’s numbers, the under is on runs of 4-1 when Ted Lilly was installed as the favorite, and 13-3 when Moehler was the underdog. Houston also comes in on under runs of 4-1 when Moehler is at home against a winning team, 6-2 as a home pup and 11-5 when he takes on NL Central-division foes. In this series, the under is 4-0 when Houston’s righty faces the Cubs, and is 24-6 the last 30 meetings in Houston.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Moehler has good control and has an effective sinking heater that ranges in the high 80s. He continually moves the ball around the plate, so an active lineup like Chicago’s could chase some of his junk, and he can change speeds on the ball. As for Lilly, he has that complicated delivery, and will be on a mission to be perfect tonight in his season-debut. I love to watch him work when his temper is in check, cause he works in and out and back and forth so well with his two-seamer, that biting cut fastball, a slider that breaks tight and cotton-soft curveball that baffles hitters. He also isn’t afraid to throw the change at any time. Look for these two to battle in this one and the score to stay low.

1? UNDER (Lilly/Moehler)

Cleveland (even) at TEXAS By Bobby Maxwell, Featured Handicapper
On the diamond tonight with a Bonus Play on the Indians as they travel to Texas to take on the Rangers.

Love the young arm of the Indians' Fausto Carmona tonight going up against veteran Vicente Padilla for the Rangers. Play Cleveland to win this one.

After going 19-8 in 2007, Carmona was average at best last year, going 8-7 with a 5.44 ERA. Look for him to bounce back big this season as he comes in healthy and ready to pitch. We all remember how good this kid looked in the 2007 playoffs and he didn't work hard enough after that to get ready for 2008.

He worked hard in this offseason and he's ready for a big season. Cliff Lee dropped the ball for the Indians in Texas on Monday and he was supposed to come back strong off his Cy Young season. Carmona needs to pick up his teammate and he'll do it tonight.

Padilla went 14-8 last season with the Rangers in 29 starts with a 4.74 ERA. He was just 2-3 in his last nine starts with four no-decisions but this guy got amazing run support last season. he would give up runs and his offense would come back and get him a lead.

Cleveland is 15-5 in its last 20 games as a 'dog and the Tribe is 10-4 in their last 14 games in Texas.

Play the Indians to get this one behind a strong outing from Carmona.

4? CLEVELAND

Kansas City (-105) at CHICAGO WHITE SOX By Michael Cannon, Featured Handicapper
On top of delivering the 3-0 sweep for my paying clients last night, I also had the Braves as a comp winner as they shut out the Phillies!

Take the Royals for the road win tonight over the White Sox.

Kansas City will start Zack Greinke, who had a breakout season of sorts last year with a 13-10 record and a solid 3.47 ERA. The right-hander hasn’t had much success against the White Sox in his career, but there’s no question he has all the makeup to grow into the Royals’ staff ace.

Chicago counters with Gavin Floyd, who led the White Sox with 17 wins last year. Prior to last season the right-hander had only won eight games in 29 career starts, so duplicating the feats of last year may be a stretch.

I like how the Royals battled in the season-opener and I expect them to take it one step further tonight.

Take the Royals as they grab the road win.
