The ACC is so tough that upsets become the rule not the exception. Superior teams continue to have letdowns as evidenced by Wake Forest’s last four games. The underdog won all four outright.
The Canes three-game losing streak is very deceptive as they have played well. Miami lost overtime games to Virginia Tech and North Carolina State before falling to Maryland on the road by five.
A home game against a former No. 1 the rallying cry they need to regroup after coming up short in tough losses.
Miami is the same team good enough to be nationally ranked, while Wake is returning to earth after everything had gone right for them. Each team continues to return to their mean tonight.
MISSOURI +4.5 Texas
Texas is dichotomous spread team. We discount 98 percent of trends, but this has proven to be the exception to the rule. Explained in our articles around the Net, basically if a team has a great SU record but horrid ATS record or visa versa, you ride for that to continue as it is the sign of which teams are most under or overvalued.
They are 15-5 straight up including 9-1 at home. However they are 1-5 against the spread their last six at home including 0-3 in conference play.
Mizzo has a frenzied defense that drives teams nuts. Mizzou opponents have committed 432 of them to MU’s 287.
Heading into the game at Texas, Missouri is averaging 23.4 of its 85 points a game off of turnovers.
Texas has struggled on offense lately. A.J. Abrams, James and Connor Atchley, the Longhorns' three leading returning scorers from 2007-08, combined to shoot 11-for-38 against Kansas State in their most recent game.
As a group, the three are shooting 4 percent lower than last season. The Tigers thrive forcing teams into mistakes and that’s been the Longhorns Achilles heel this year.
