OffshoreInsiders Senior Handicapper Matt Rivers has a comp play winner for Tuesday is on the Boston Red Sox getting 106.

Boston is a beat up team that is a complete shell of itself but I still don't mind them in this spot. Let's be honest here, this Oakland team is as mediocre as they get. The A's are an extremely average team with a pitcher in Dallas Braden who has done less than nothing since the perfect game.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the Oakland lefthander because he has good stuff and certainly can dominate when on. But lately Braden has been injured and not nearly as good. The guy hasn't been on a big league mound in a month and frankly I'm not sure what he can do right now. I don't see him lasting all that long as the A's coaches have to be very careful with him after the recent issues and therefore even if he is alright we should see a lot of a mediocre Oakland bullpen.

Tim Wakefield and that knuckleball have been awful of late. The last two starts have been debacles but I'm really not all that concerned about it because the guy has been there and done that and at the drop of a hat can be good. 12 earned runs in seven innings would concern me a lot more with almost any other pitcher but Wakefield could all of a sudden twirl a gem with his style and it would not surprise me in the least. That knuckleball will be awful and then will all of a sudden be unhittable just like that. There really is no rhyme or reason with that pitch so laying a lot with it is silly but getting it in a decent enough spot isn't bad.

Duston Pedroia is not playing obviously but the Red Sox still have some big boppers in Ortiz and Youkilis and in the end here should be alright. In a bottom of a barrel comp play I'll back the visitors from Beantown here in OakTown.

The pick: Boston +106

0-1 yesterday MINUS 30 dimes or MINUS $315..overall, 78-94-3 MINUS 305 dimes. his worst deficit since i started posting.

current streak 0-5...since the all-star break. 1-6..if you remember guys he was 0-14 a few weeks before the all star break...he continues to reign as the worst handicapper in the world.

Tuesday's Action 20 DIME selection on the Milwaukee Brewers on the road in agaanst the Pirates. As I publish this release, the Brewers are favored in the -125 to -135 range both here in Vegas and offsheore. Note that you must list the Brewers' Dave Bush and the Pirates' Brad Lincoln as the staroing pitchers. If either does not start, this play is VOID!

Brewers

43-15. That’s the Milwaukee Brewers’ record against the Pirates in the last 58 meetings. Going back to late August of 2009, the Brewers are on a 12-3 roll against Pittsburgh, including five wins in six tries at PNC Park this season.

Tonight, Milwaukee hands the ball to Dave Bush, who is 4-0 with a 2.80 ERA in his last seven starts against Pittsburgh, with the Brewers winning all seven games. And Bush has been very good of late, posting a 2.39 ERA in his last six starts. In those six contests, Busch gave up the following earned run totals: 2, 2, 1, 2, 2 and 1.

Granted, the Brewers haven’t cashed in on Bush’s strong outings lately, losing three of his last four starts. But they only managed one run in each of the three defeats. The offense figures to get cranked up today against Pittsburgh rookie right-hander Brad Lincoln, who is facing the Brewers for the second straight start. In his last outing on July 11, Lincoln gave up three runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings, with the Pirates falling 6-5.

And in his start previous to that, Lincoln got rocked at Houston, allowing five runs in five innings of a 6-2 loss. For the season, Lincoln is just 1-3 with a 5.14 ERA in seven starts, with Pittsburgh scoring just two victories.

The Brewers are playing better ball of late (6-2 last eight games), while the young Bucs continue their freefall, losing nine of their last 13 games. And going back to June 6, Pittsburgh is in a 9-27 funk.

25* FAT POCKETS MLB TB Rays

Tampa Bay (56-36) improved to 6-1 against Baltimore with an 8-1 win Monday. It was the teams' first meeting since mid-April, when the Rays swept a three-game series at Camden Yards by a score of 22-8.

Baltimore (29-63), meanwhile, has lost four straight, getting outscored 25-6 while hitting .150 with runners in scoring position over that stretch. It's also lost five in a row at home.

The Orioles' struggles at the plate don't bode well against Garza (10-5, 4.05 ERA), who won there May 12 to improve to 5-0 with a 3.00 ERA lifetime at Camden Yards. Overall, Garza is 8-1 with a 2.48 ERA in 10 career starts against Baltimore. He is 2-0 this season -- giving up two earned runs in 16 innings and striking out 14

St. Louis Cardinals -175

The Cardinals have been red hot since the All-Star Break and have yet to lose in the second half of the season. St. Louis is crushing the ball right now and square off tonight against a Phillies club that just are not par right now and battling so many injuries. Never go against a hot team after the break until they get cold. Take the Cardinals.

ChiSox (-125) for 2 Units

The Mariners continue to struggle at home (1-8) and should slide in this spot. The Mariners, which are 6-12 in game 2 of a series following a loss, are a miserable 21-45 as a dog in this price range. We'll look for John Danks to continue his success vs Seattle: 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA in 3 starts. And as a road favorite in this price range, the 'Sox are 4-0 with Danks. Ichiro, in particular has struggled with Danks (4 for 22). We'll look for Chicago to win its 5th straight in this series
