LEAN* Detroit (+12) over L.A. LAKERS
Rotation #513 - 7:35 pm Pacific
The Lakers have lost 4 of their last 6 games and are coming off a 19 point home loss to the Grizzlies. However, don’t necessarily expect the Lakers to bounce-back by beating up a bad team because that has not been their pattern. The Lakers are just 21-54-1 ATS as a home favorite of 11 points or more the last few years, including 3-16 ATS since the start of last season (1-4 ATS this season), and they’re just 4-14-1 ATS in that role after a loss and 2-11-1 ATS against an unrested team (Detroit played last night). Also, big home favorite are actually bad bets after a straight up loss as a big home favorite and the Lakers apply to a 23-65-2 ATS situation that is based on that. The negative here is that Detroit is not a very good team on the second of back-to-back nights (10-19-2 ATS since last season and 2-5-1 ATS this year). That’s not as bad as the Lakers’ team trend and the general situation against the Lakers still applies, so I’ll lean with Detroit at +12 points or more.
