There are some interesting side notes to both of the games that are on
tap for Thursday. As per this one, over 66% of the public is indeed
backing the Trojans on the road here. Note, the line opened up at -23
and has rise up to even -26.5 in some books. And, why not? The
Trojans have gone on the road and at home and simply run up the score
on ball clubs. They beat the Beavers 24-3 at home last year and they
are significantly better this year. After all, this Trojan defense
has yielded just ten points total this year to both Virginia and Ohio
State combined and scored 80 points in total on offense. Not bad
right – an 80 to 10 split. Oregon State fought Stanford extremely hard
in the first game on the road and fell short as they were actually
favored in that game. They went to Penn State and got drilled and
finally came back home to lay the whooping down on Hawaii to relieve
some frustration. The public also favors the over here by a nearly
3:1 margin and I think this is a mistake frankly as I wouldn't be
surprised to see this game dip under today. No lean on the side, but
do like the under as the under is 5-0 when the Trojans play a team
with a losing record and the under is 8-2 for the Beavers when they
come off a bye-week of preparation.<!-- / message -->
