Playing devil's advocate here- 1) he didn't say that Randizzle said it was no play, he said no play. That could mean that he wasn't playing it personally after he heard the news. 2) Randizzle could always buy back the other side canceling the bet less the vig.

The line obviously jumped when Kobe was announced out.
