THE GOLD SHEET

*PITTSBURGH 20 - Tennessee 19—Payback game for the Steelers, who
were whupped 31-14 last Dec. 21 in the game that decided the No. 1 seed in the
AFC. In that contest, Tennessee became the only team in the regular season
to gain more than 300 yards against the rugged Pittsburgh defense. Since that
game, the Titans have lost dominating DT Albert Haynesworth to the Redskins.
But Tennessee still has plenty of pass rushers and defensive quickness.
Remember, only eight Super Bowl champs have repeated in 42 years! Note
that 30 of last 43 games at Heinz have gone “over.” TV—NBC

*GEORGIA TECH 24 - Clemson 23—Star Tiger RB Spiller (hamstring) sat
out 2nd half vs. Middle Tennessee after returning opening kickoff for a TD. If
Spiller, who also had 50-yard punt return in last week’s home win, and fellow
speedster sr. WR Ford (43-yard TDC, 61-yard punt return TD vs. Blue Raiders)
both available, Clemson should hit enough “home runs” to counter Tech’s
relentless ground attack. Shrewd Jacket mentor Paul Johnson (44-24 vs.
spread last 68 on board as a HC!) has glut of quality RBs, but Tigers’ speedy “D”
kept Tech triple-option mostly bottled up LY. CABLE TV—ESPN
