Play: LAKERS
Comments: The scene shifts to Utah for tonight's Game 3, but the Lakers are hardly fazed by any road environment. After all, they will enter Thursday's game with the league's best road record at 29-12 while looking to take a commanding 3-0 against the Jazz. Kobe Bryant led the way with 26 points, as 7 Lakers scored in double-figures during their 119-109 win in Game 2 on Tuesday night. Deron Williams was sensational for Utah with 35 points & 9 assists, but also committeed 7 turnovers. Mehmet Okur remains questionable for Game 3 with a hamstring injury, which is really hurting the Jazz in this series. If Okur can't go, look for the Lakers to get it done tonight on the road & set up a possible sweep for this weekend. All Lakers!
Play: DODGERS
Comments: The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to avoid a sweep tonight as they face the Houston Astros in the finale of a 3-game series from Houston's Minute Maid Park. Dodgers righthander Chad Billingsley (3-0, 2.84 ERA) will try to become the majors' first pitcher to 4 wins & will be opposed by Astros lefty Wandy Rodriguez (1-1, 1.89 ERA). Los Angeles has given Billingsley 25 runs of support through his first 3 starts of 2009, while Chad went 1-1 against Houston in 2 starts last season with a 2.77 ERA. It's been a different story for Rodriguez, as Houston has given him just 10 runs of support so far through his first 3 starts of 2009. Wandy will be seeking his 1st win against the Dodgers since May 11th, 2006. In that game at Dodger Stadium, Rodriguez pitched 6 & 2/3 innings while allowing just 1 run on 4 hits & struck out five during the Astros' 4-2 win. Look for the Dodgers to win tonight & avoid the sweep. All Dodgers!
Play: BULLS
Comments: After a thrilling Game 2 win over Chicago, the defending champion Boston Celtics now head on the road & will try to steal homecourt back from the Bulls. However, they'll have to do it without the services of Leon Powe. Powe injured his knee during Monday's Game 2 win & will miss the rest of the playoffs. This will undoubtely put more pressure on Paul Pierce & Ray Allen to carry the team, along with Rajon Rondo. Rondo pulled off his 1st career playoff triple-double (19 points, 16 assists & 12 rebounds) despite playing with a sprained ankle. The Celtics will also need contributions from both Glen Davis (26 points, 9 rebounds in Game 2) & Kendrick Perkins (16 points & 12 rebounds in Game 2) in order to win tonight. For the Bulls, who will have the hot hand tonight? Derrick Rose led the way with a game-high 36 points in Game 1, while Ben Gordon put on a shooting clinic with 42 points in Game 2. Perhaps it could be John Salmons, who did score 38 in the regular-season against Boston. Look for the young & confident Bulls to win tonight on their homefloor, which will set up a crucial Game 4 on Sunday for the Celtics. All Bulls!
