CAPPSTERs
Today we are on Boston ML (+109) over Los Angeles. Boston has a very strong offense, and Steven Wright has gotten plenty of run support this year as he goes to the mound with a 12-5 record and a 3.12 ERA. Boegarts is hitting .412 during a 12 game hitting streak, and Pedroia has now reached base in 33 straight games. Skaggs gets the start for LA, and he is kind of a feel good story. After two years of injuries he is trying to see what his arm may or may not have left. Drawing the Redsox today is a tough assignement, and this is just his 2nd appearance of the year.
Today we are on Philadelphia ML over Atlanta. Both teams continue to struggle on the offense, but overall the Phillies have the better hitting team. Atlanta who is last in the league in runs, homeruns....and many other stats, did go out and get Kemp, but we dont see the value in bringing him in to their organization when they are committed to the rebuild. Those dollars could have been spent better. De La Cruz gets the start for the Braves and this is just his 3rd of the season. He has been hit hard in both his other starts, and when pitching in relief hasn't had a longer outing than 1+ innings.
Today we are on New York/Tampa Bay over 7. The two starters today have a combined record of 7-13 between them. The Yankees could be active today if they move Beltran or McCann as teams look for some help just prior to the trade deadline. When Beltran scores twice more, he will become only of three active players with 1500 runs and 1500 RBI's. Beckham (12-22) and Miller (7-17) are both on hot streaks for the Rays at the moment.
