CINCINNATI REDS (-155, list both pitchers) over San Francisco Giants, 10 dimes
A great pitching matchup for the home team here. I know the juice is high on this one, but Cueto has been Mr. Reliable this season, stopping teams dead in their tracks on the road and at home. The guy simply doesn't give up a lot of runs. He's incredibly never given up more than 3 earned runs in a start all year. The ERA is well under 2.00, and he shut down San Fran earlier this year in a road matchup out west. I'm not too worried about the new Giant, Carlos Beltran, and his hitting power. Sure, he's got excellent career numbers against the Reds, but in the last two games he's been nonexistent. Hell, it's been well over 10 games since he's had a multi hit performance. He's settling in, and Cueto should be handling this lineup without a problem. Barry Zito goes to the hill for the Gmen, but his lifetime numbers against the Reds are God-Awful. In eight career starts, Zito has gotten pummelled. His ERA against them is well over 7.00. And I don't need to tell you how poorly Zito has been doing lately. He'll have trouble against a hot hitting team like Cinci. The Reds
are hitting .280 over their last 7 contests, enough to average about 5 and a half runs a game. On the other side of the bill, the Giants are hitting a pathetic .183 over their last 7. Roll with the home team here.
