3* San Francisco -1.5 runs +110

similar to yesterday when we played the bounce back on Kershaw , I will play on the bounce back of Cain today. Kershaw gave me everything I hoped for and counted on in his start but the dodger offense let me down.
Today I look for a similar dominant outing from Cain. Cain has staggering #'s this year at home(6-1 1.98 era), during the day(5-1 1.42 era) and before his last start had gone 6 straight starts while only giving up zero or one run. San Fran is 7-3 in their last 10 with 6 of those victories coming by the RL. he giants have been near the top of the run line earnings all year +15.64 units and should add to that today.
The only good thing I can say about Harang is that he goes deep into games. He usually goes 6 or 7 inn. but if you give up 4 or 5 in that start you won't win many and that is the case with him. He has lost 5 in a row and in those starts has gone 30.1 IP and given up 23 ER(6.77 era). Combine that with a cincy offense that is hitting under .200 since the all star break and you have a 5 game losing streak with all 5 games coming by 2 runs or more.

Cincinnati Reds (47-62) at San Francisco Giants (61-49)

The Giants have won 14 of Matt Cain (12-3, 2.25 ERA) last 17 starts and the right-hander has pitched super at AT&T Park, 0.77 ERA over his last seven outings. Cain is 2-2 with a 4.18 ERA in four career starts against the Reds. Contrary, Cincinnati’s veteran right-hander Aaron Harang (5-13, 4.52) is 0-9 with a 5.49 ERA in his last 13 outings and is 3-6 with a 4.00 ERA in 10 career starts against the Giants. The struggling Reds are 3-15 in their last 18 games and have dropped nine of its last ten on the road. Go with the Giants at home with Matt Cain on the hill.

Boston Red Sox at NY Yankees
Sunday, August 9th, 4:05 ET

New York will look to dominate the Sox in this finale after back-to-back shutouts. Yankees veteran left-handed arm Andy Pettitte takes the hill this afternoon while looking to follow up a good last outing in Toronto where he allowed one run in nearly seven innings of work. New York is 18-3 at home when playing on Sunday, while Boston is just 7-15 when on the road on Sundays. The Yankees are 36-16 after a game where they allowed one or less runs. Go with the Yankees for the sweep!

Play on: New York

Cincinnati Reds at San Francisco Giants

The Reds are 7-2 UNDER their last 9 games as underdogs and they are 7-2-1 UNDER vs. a team with a winning record. San Francisco is 21-8-2 UNDER their last 31 games as favorites and they are 35-16-4 UNDER vs. a team with a losing record. The Giants are 6-0 UNDER with Matt Cain if he has 5 days of rest and they are 5-0 UNDER in the last 5 starts made by Cain overall. PLAY ON 'UNDER' (Cain vs. Harang) Good luck

Pick: Washington +100 (moneyline)

Don't look now but the Nationals are winning! They have posted seven straight wins and go for a sweep over the Diamondbacks this afternoon. I think they get it. Are the Nationals as good as they are playing right now? No. But they weren't as bad as their record indicated before this run, either. Their offense has been decent all season (4.6 runs per game). The problem for them has been pitching. J.D. Martin doesn't instill a whole lot of confidence, but I think he'll do well enough vs. Yusmeiro Petit who hasn't done any better this season. And with the Nats averaging 6.9 runs per game over their win streak, I like them here at home. Arizona is a losing road team in the midst of a long road trip. They have gone 1-7 this season after 7+ straight road games. When favoried at -100 to -150, the D-Backs are just 19-33 this season. Petit is 1-8 as a favorite over the past two seasons. I like the home team here.
