Sunday, June 14th, 2009 8:00 p.m. est.
Los Angeles Lakers (80-24) at Orlando Magic (72-33)
The Magic are in a must win situation, down 3-1. Orlando has the ability to recover and bring it back to Los Angeles for a game 6. Even so, I think this will be a close hard fought fight by the Magic to stay alive. Take the points!

Orlando Magic +3

Sunday, June 14th, 2009 1:35 p.m. est.
Boston Red Sox (38-24) at Philadelphia Phillies (35-25)
(R) Josh Beckett (7-2) vs. (L) J.A. Happ (4-0)

Boston's right-hander Josh Beckett (7-2, 3.77 ERA) is 5-0 with a 1.70 ERA in his last seven starts and is 8-3 with a 3.79 ERA in 16 career starts against the Phillies. The Red Sox are 6-1 in Beckett's last 7 starts, 4-0 in his last 4 on the road.
Philadelphia's lefthander J.A. Happ (4-0, 2.98) is 2-0 with a 3.42 ERA in his last four starts. Happ will be making his first career start against the Red Sox. The Phillies are 6-2 in Happ’s last 8 starts, 4-0 in his last 4 at home.
The Red Sox go for the sweep this afternoon against the first place Phillies. Boston has won 15 of 18 versus Philadelphia and ten of the last 12 games at Citizens Bank Park, three of four this season. Go with Boston to grab their fifth straight win in Philadelphia and Beckett's fourth straight victory over the Phillies. The Red Sox have won their last six road games and are 26-9 in interleague road games.

Sunday's Action
500♦ Orlando Magic

Take the Magic minus the points as they force a game six.

If not for a missed layup and a pair of misses at the free throw line the Magic would be looking good up 3-1 in the series as that is how close the past four games have been. Well time to look for another good one today or at least a big game from the Magic who facing elimination won’t be giving up tonight at home where have gone 40-12 on the year.

Meanwhile, for the Lakers their one major question mark has been their desire and motivation in key games this playoffs. Well given their 3-1 series lead the Lakers lack of motivation will show big time today as they will look to seal the deal back home in game six.

Sorry, but this series is far from over as I expect for Orlando to keep this series alive with an easy home win.

Go with the Magic tonight in game five.

100♦ Cincinnati Reds

Take the Reds as they avoid the sweep.

Just their first series win since early May don’t expect any much from the Royals here today. You see for Kansas City prior winning their past two games the Royals had lost 11 of their last 13 games. Now to help the Royals return to their losing ways will be Bannister who has just one win in his last six starts while sporting an ERA of 10 plus over his last three starts. Countering for the Reds will be Cueto with his 6-3 season record and 2.33 ERA. So as the old saying goes good pitching wins baseball games and the Reds clearly have the advantage on the mound today.

Go with Cincinnati as they avoid the sweep!
