The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

HOT LINES

Saturday's Best MLB Bets

Kansas City Royals at Detroit Tigers (-130, 8.5)

The Tigers got off to a dreadful start in 2011, which included a seven-game losing streak that extended through late April and early May. To say they have turned the tide, would be an understatement.

Detroit has now won five in a row and eight of its last nine as of Friday evening. Part of the reason for the turnaround is starter Brad Penny, who is taking the mound against Kansas City on Saturday.

In his last two outings, Penny has pitched a combined 13.2 innings and allowed a mere two earned runs. He picked up the win over the Yankees on May 2 and again over Toronto last Sunday. Penny also recently fired a one-hitter while going seven innings in a 9-0 rout of the White Sox on April 23.

“He's pitched pretty well lately,” manager Jim Leyland told the Detroit Free Press after his righthander’s last outing. “It's kind of gone unnoticed. I think what you saw is exactly the reason we wanted to get him: give us some innings and give us a chance to win.”

The Royals, meanwhile, are a respectable 20-17 for the season but just 5-9 on the road. Saturday starter Jeff Francis has a 5.09 ERA and has given up five earned runs in three of his last four appearances.

PICK: Tigers

St. Louis Cardinals at Cincinnati Reds (-120, 8.5)

Saturday’s showdown between National League Central rivals brings back memories of one of baseball’s uglier scenes from last season.

Johnny Cueto is going up against the Cardinals for the first time since facing them last Aug. 10, when a melee ensued in Cincinnati. During the bench-clearing brawl, Cueto kicked opposing catcher Jason LaRue and St. Louis starter Chris Carpenter with his spikes while he was pinned against the backstop screen.

“He could have done some real damage,” Carpenter said of Cueto. “He got [LaRue] in the side of his eye, he got him in his nose, he got him in his face. Totally unprofessional. Unbelievable. I’ve never seen anything like that.”

The Cardinals may not want to see any of Cueto, because he followed up a solid 2010 campaign with a stellar first outing of this year last Sunday. Cueto, who had been on the disabled list with a biceps injury, went six innings against the Cubs and allowed no runs and five hits while striking out four.

Cincinnati has won six of its last eight games as of Friday evening and stand just 1.5 games back of St. Louis for the top spot in the division.

Saturday's Best NHL Bet

Tampa Bay Lightning at Boston Bruins (-144, 5.5)

Something has to give in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference because neither team is accustomed to losing.

Since trailing Pittsburgh 3-1 in a first-round series, the Lightning have won seven consecutive games. After stunning the Penguins, they rolled through favored Washington in a four-game sweep.

The Bruins have won eight of their last nine contests since falling behind Montreal 2-0 in the first round. They absolutely destroyed Philadelphia in the conference semifinals, winning four straight games by a combined margin of 20-7.

The regular-season series between the two East finalists gives a slight edge to Boston. It won three of the four head-to-head meetings, including both at home by a combined score of 10-2. Among the Bruins’ three victories was an 8-1 embarrassment on Dec. 2.

If Tampa Bay wants to continue its own hot streak and turn the tide, it is going to have to solve a nearly impenetrable Boston defense. It’s no coincidence that the Bruins have been playing defensemen Zdeno Chara and Dennis Seidenberg on the same line since - you guessed it - losing its first two playoff games. They have lost only once with the Chara-Seidenberg duo dominating inside the blue line. Chara is +11 during the postseason and Seidenberg has six points along with a +8 rating.

In goal, Tim Thomas has been sensational for Boston. He is 8-3 with a 2.03 GAA in the playoffs and he recorded an incredible 95.3 save percentage against the Flyers, allowing only seven goals in 149 shots.

“He was the best throughout the regular season and now in the playoffs he's shown the same,” Lightning head coach Guy Boucher said of Thomas. “It's making everybody scratch their heads about what to do, including myself.”

PICK: Bruins

Lightning at Bruins: What Bettors Need To Know

Tampa Bay Lightning at Boston Bruins (-144, 5.5)

THE STORY: Do you remember the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning? You know, the teams who made a clean sweep of the two top-ranked clubs in the Eastern Conference semifinals? The third-seeded Bruins avenged last year's collapse by carelessly tossing the Philadelphia Flyers aside. For their part, the fifth-seeded Lightning have won seven straight games - in 12 days, no less. They completed the onslaught by throttling the Southeast Division-rival Washington Capitals en route to finishing their series on May 4. Now, after eight and 10 days off respectively, the teams will reconvene on Saturday in Beantown to begin their conference final series.

TV: 8 ET, VERSUS, CBC

ABOUT THE BRUINS: Boston is making its first trip to the Eastern Conference finals since 1992. Vezina Trophy finalist Tim Thomas (8-3, 2.03 goals-against average) has won five straight to see his career playoff mark balloon to 18-11. All told, Thomas has posted a 10-4 career mark with a 2.26 goals-against average versus Tampa Bay. Patrice Bergeron, who leads the team with 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) will miss Saturday's contest with a concussion. Second overall pick Tyler Seguin, 19, will get the nod in his place. Fellow rookie Brad Marchand has scored in five straight games and seven of his last eight. The 23-year-old Nova Scotia native has a goal and an assist in four career games against the Lightning.

ABOUT THE LIGHTNING: Whenever it visits Boston, Tampa Bay skates like it ate some bad chowder. The Lightning have won just three times in their last 25 contests (3-18-4) in Beantown. As for more recent events, Martin St. Louis will look to continue where he left off. The Hart Trophy finalist has six goals - including three on the power play - and seven assists in 11 postseason games. Captain Vincent Lecavalier (five goals, seven assists), Steve Downie (two goals, 10 assists) and Teddy Purcell (one goal, 10 assists) give the Lightning four double-digit scorers in the playoffs - more than any other team. Dwayne Roloson (8-3, 2.01 goals-against average) has posted a 5-2-2 career mark with a slim 1.97 goals-against average versus the Bruins. Acquired in a New Year's Day trade with the New York Islanders, the 41-year-old netminder did not face the Bruins this season.

WHO'S HOT/WHO’S NOT: David Krejci gained a measure of revenge against the Flyers. After missing the final four contests in their epic collapse against Philadelphia in 2010, Krejci collected four goals and five assists in Boston's four-game sweep of the Flyers. Tampa Bay left wing Sean Bergenheim has scored a goal in five of his last six games. All told, he has seven tallies in 11 postseason contests.

SPECIAL TEAMS: After failing to score on its first 31 power-play opportunities in the postseason, Boston has scored twice on its last six chances. A 5.4 percent efficiency rating is no cause for celebration, but considering the Bruins are still playing, well ... it is what it is. For its part, Tampa Bay has scored on 12 of its 45 power-play chances (26.7 percent) whiling killing off 51 of 54 shorthanded situations (94.4 percent).

SEASON SERIES: Boston won three of the four meetings between the clubs this season. After Tampa Bay skated to a 3-1 home win on Nov. 22, the Bruins bounced back with an 8-1 triumph on Dec. 2. Boston then collected a 4-3 road win on Dec. 28 and a 2-1 home victory on March 3.

TRENDS:

* Home team is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings.
* Lightning are 13-32-5 in the last 50 meetings.
* Lightning are 3-18-4 in the last 25 meetings in Boston.

LAST WORD: "We both found a way. We definitely had to fight our way into the league and earn our chances, and even then they didn't come at first. I'm proud that we did. I'm proud of Timmy that he did. He battled." - St. Louis, on the path traveled by both Thomas and himself in the NHL. The two played collegiate hockey at the University of Vermont 18 years ago.

MLB NEWS AND NOTES
Yanks, Boston Red Sox Meet In Primetime
By Brian Edwards

Boston Red Sox at New York Yankees

New York (20-15, -104) went into Friday’s series opener trailing Tampa Bay by one game for the lead in the American League East race. The Yankees were 13-8 in their 21 home games going into this three-game set with Boston.

Boston (17-20, -1273) came to the Bronx in fourth place in the AL East, five games back of the Rays. The Red Sox have limped to a 6-11 record on the road.

Terry Francona will give the starting nod to Josh Beckett, who owns a 2-1 record and 1.99 ERA through seven starts. The Red Sox are 4-3 in Beckett’s seven outings, while the ‘under’ has cashed at a lucrative 6-1 record. The veteran right-hander owns an 11-7 record but a bloated 5.90 ERA in 23 career starts against the Yankees. However, Beckett threw eight shutout innings while striking out 10 and scattering just two hits in a win earlier this year.

Joe Girardi will give the ball to ace left-hander C.C. Sabathia (3-2, 2.89). The Yankees are 5-3 in his starts, which have seen the ‘over’ hit at a 6-2 clip. Sabathia is 6-6 with a 3.35 lifetime ERA in 16 outings against Boston.

The ‘under’ is 18-15-2 overall for the Yankees, 12-9 in their home games. The ‘under’ has cashed at a 12-4-2 clip in New York’s last 18 contests.

Totals have been an overall wash for Boston (17-17-3), but the ‘under’ is 9-7-1 in their road assignments. The ‘over’ has prevailed in seven of the Red Sox’s last 10 outings.

Robinson Cano has enjoyed the most success against Beckett in the past, hitting three homers and driving in 12 runners in 59 career at-bats. Cano has a .339 batting average with five walks against the righty. New York slugger Alex Rodriguez has a .286 career average versus Beckett with three homers and 11 RBIs in 56 Abs. Derek Jeter owns a .286 average with two homers and nine RBIs in 70 at-bats against Beckett.

Boston’s J.D. Drew is hitting just .227 off Sabathia with only one extra-base hit (a double) in 22 at-bats versus the southpaw. Carl Crawford has faced Sabathia 58 times and has yet to take him deep. Crawford has a decent .276 average against the former Indian.

The Red Sox are 5-7 versus left-handed pitching.

Most books are listing the Yankees as minus-130 home favorites with a total of 8 ½ ‘under’ (minus-120). Bettors can earn a huge return in the plus-160 range by backing New York on the run line (minus 1 ½ runs, paid $160 on $100 wagers).

FOX will provide regional television coverage at 7:10 p.m. Eastern.

SF Giants at Chicago Cubs (+100, OFF)

Chicago (17-20, -412) brought a half to San Francisco’s six-game winning streak by battering the Giants by an 11-4 count in Friday’s series opener at Wrigley Field. Ryan Dempster continued his solid work in May (2.25 ERA) after a dreadful April. The veteran right-hander went six innings and gave up just two runs en route to an 11-strikeout performance. The Cubs got their offense from Reed Johnson and Darwin Barney, both of who went 3-for-5. Johnson hit a bases-clearing triple in the seventh, while Barney scored three runs.

Chicago had lost six in a row at home before Friday’s victory. The Cubs are now 9-12 at Wrigley. They are in fourth place in the NL Central, 4 ½ games behind the loop-leading Cardinals, who had a lead at Cincinnati late Friday night.

San Francisco (21-17, +253) was clinging to a half-game lead over Colorado in the NL West standings late Friday night, but the Rockies were ahead of the Padres and on the cusp of pulling back into a first-place tie with the Giants.

Bruce Bochy’s team will turn to Ryan Vogelsong (2-0, 3.05) for his fourth start of the year. The Giants are 3-0 in Vogelsong’s previous outings. He has struggled mightily against the Cubs with a 1-4 record and 7.59 ERA in five career starts.

Doug Davis will make his debut as a Chicago Cub in this spot. The 11-year veteran has been rehabbing from elbow surgery last October.

The ‘over’ is 20-16 overall for the Cubs, 12-8-1 in their home games. They have seen the ‘over’ cash in each of their last four outings.

San Francisco has watched the ‘under’ go 19-16 overall, 11-10-1 in its road assignments.

The Giants are 7-4 against lefties, 14-8 in games played under the lights. They fell to 11-11 on the road in Friday’s setback.

As of late Friday night, most books were listing the Giants as minus-115 road favorites. There was no overnight number for the total due to uncertain wind conditions.

FOX will have the telecast at 7:10 p.m. Eastern.

Saturday's Betting Tips: Lightning Struggle In Boston

Who's Hot

NHL: The over is 9-3-2 in Tampa Bay’s last 14 games.

EPL: Manchester United is 8-1-1 in its last 10 matches.

MLB: The St. Louis Cardinals lead the bigs with a .290 team batting average.

Who’s Not

NHL: Tampa Bay is just 3-18-4 in its last 25 games in Boston.

MLB: The Houston Astros’ starting pitching staff is working on a 5.00 ERA.

MLB: Minnesota had won just three of its last 14 games heading into Friday’s action.

Key Stat

94.4 percent – The Tampa Bay Lightning have shut down 94.4 percent of the power plays they have faced in the postseason against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals. Tampa Bay has yielded just three goals through the first two rounds and are giving veteran goaltender Dwayne Roloson a ton of help as the top four shot blockers in the playoffs are Lightning defensemen.

Injury That Shouldn’t Be Overlooked

Carlos Tevez, Manchester City – Tevez has barely played since suffering a hamstring injury against Liverpool five weeks ago, but he will be re-evaluated Saturday morning and could play in Saturday’s FA Cup Final against Stoke. The club’s captain and striker has 22 goals this season. Manchester City is set at -120.

Game Of The Day

Tampa Bay Lightning at Boston Bruins (-140, 5.5)

Notable Quotable

"When you look at their start, they've played obviously a lot better than what they did in the slow start they got [off] to. The adrenaline will be there. The passion, the excitement about the Red Sox in town, that will all be there." – New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi about the Boston Red Songs coming to the Bronx for the first time of the year this weekend. The Yankees were 11-5 in their last 16 home games against the Red Sox heading into Friday night’s Game 1 of the series.

Tips And Notes

Maybe part of the reason the Pittsburgh Pirates have been competitive this season is they aren’t putting up with guys dogging it on the field anymore. Rookie manager Clint Hurdle benched center fielder Andrew McCutchen on Thursday after he failed to run out a play in Wednesday’s 2-0 loss to the Dodgers. Ronny Cedeno also found a spot on the bench earlier this year for a similar play. "You can't look past it," Hurdle told reporters. "You can't stick your head in the sand. We're a team. I believe strongly (in all-out hustle), and I know our men do, too. Sometimes they just need help with their direction." The Pirates are hovering around the .500 mark as they visit Milwaukee this weekend.

Manchester United can secure its 19th English Premier League championship on Saturday with a single point away at Blackburn. The Rovers still have a lot to play for, probably needing at least a point to be totally safe from relegation and word is they won’t face United’s top goalkeeper, 40-year-old Edwin van der Sar. Red Devils manager Alex Ferguson wants to keep him fresh for the Champions League final beginning May 28. United is set as a -143 favorite with the draw at +235 and Blackburn at +400.

Rafal Nadal will hold onto his No. 1 ranking heading into the French Open. Nadal needed to make it to at least the semifinals of the Rome Masters to secure his ranking and did just that by downing Marin Cilic 6-1, 6-3 on Thursday. Following last weekend’s loss to Novak Djokovic on clay, Nadal is still set as the French Open favorite, pegged around -225. Oddsmakers have Nadal set as a -2000 favorite for Rome Masters semifinal matchup with Richard Gasquet that goes Saturday.

Hondo

Hondo's glorious winning streak came to a halt at four last night when the Pirates failed to overcome the odds in Milwaukee, which raised the debt to 975 medwicks.

Today, a victory by McClellan looks to be in the cards in Cincy -- 10 units on St. Loo.

Today's MLB Picks

Boston at NY Yankees

The Yankees look to bounce back from last night's 5-4 loss and build on their 6-1 record in their last 7 games when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in the previous game. New York is the pick (-130) according to Dunkel, which has the Yankees favored by 1. Dunkel Pick: NY Yankees (-130). Here are all of today's picks.
