Miami has won 17 games in row over Bobcat team that is 0-6 all-time in playoff games; Heat covered nine of last 12 series games- they made 20 of 46 from arc in first two games. Miami subs are killing Charlotte's; in two games, Miami's subs combined to be +128; Charlotte's bench was -99. Heat was -15 with Dwyane Wade on floor in first two games, +30 when he was off floor. Under is 25-15-1 in Charlotte home games.

Mavericks forced 22 turnovers (+15) in Game 2 to snap ten-game skid against San Antonio; they were up 10 at Alamo in Game 1, so they've got to have confidence coming home, even though they're just 4-5 in last nine home games. Duncan had only 11 points last game after dominating Game 1; Spurs lost three of last four road games but are 25-16 vs spread overall on foreign soil. Over is 24-17 in Dallas home games this year.

Pacers are now 7-11 in last 18 games, 7-26-1 against spread in last 34, as they often look like they'd be just as happy if season ended. Indiana is 3-4 vs Atlanta this season, 1-2 here- they've lost 14 of last 16 visits to Atlanta. Hawks won eight of last eleven games. Scola has 37 points in 39:00 off bench in last two games; George shot 3-11 from floor in Game 3- he is the Pacers' barometer. Hawks' bench was just 6-20 in Game 3.

Thunder lost five of last six visits to Memphis; their bench is 14-56 in series (25%!!!!), as Ibaka has been only scoring option after Westbrook, Durant. Griz covered three of last eight games as an underdog. Grizzlies won seven of last eight games; they lost Game 1 vs Thunder LY, then won series in 5- their bench made 29-53 shots in last two games, after going 9-28 in Game 1. Favorites are 9-13 SU, 5-17 vs spread; over is 16-6 in NBA playoffs so far this month.

Game of the Day: Angels at Yankees

Los Angeles Angels at New York Yankees (-109, 9)

Coming off a disappointing 2013 season, Albert Pujols has been anything but a letdown so far in 2014. The Los Angeles Angels' slugger aims to become the first player to reach double-digit home runs on the season when he takes on the New York Yankees on Saturday afternoon. Pujols' ninth homer was one of four hit by Los Angeles in Friday's 13-1 triumph in the opener of the three-game series.

Pujols has never faced Yankees starter Vidal Nuno, nor has any current member of the Angels. Nuno will be making just his fifth career start and his second of the season, but he is coming off a scoreless outing last Sunday against Tampa Bay. Los Angeles will give the ball to Hector Santiago, who is 0-3 due in large part to the dreadful run support he has received over the season's first month.

TV: 1:05 p.m. ET, Fox Sports 1

LINE HISTORY: The Yankees opened as -109 home faves. The total opened at 9.

POWER RANKINGS: Angels (-151), Yankees (-186)

INJURY REPORT: Los Angeles: OF Kole Calhoun - out (ankle), OF Josh Hamilton - out (thumb). New York: C Francisco Cervelli - out (hamstring).

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels LH Hector Santiago (0-3, 3.68 ERA) vs. Yankees LH Vidal Nuno (0-0, 6.75)

Santiago has received a total of eight runs of support in his four starts, including Sunday's 2-1 loss to Detroit in which he took the loss despite allowing only two unearned runs over 5 2/3 innings. Control has been an issue for the 26-year-old New Jersey native, who has walked 12 batters in 22 innings, including a season-high five walks against the Tigers. The current Yankees have a collective .310 lifetime average against Santiago, led by Alfonso Soriano (3-for-7, two home runs).

Nuno has made one start and three relief appearances, including a 3 1/3-inning relief outing against Baltimore on April 8 in which he was torched for seven runs and eight hits. He joined the rotation this week when Ivan Nova landed on the disabled list and blanked the Rays over five innings in his first starting nod of 2014. Despite that performance, opponents still are batting .324 against Nuno this season.

TRENDS:

* Under is 7-3 in Gibson IIIs last 10 games behind home plate.
* Over is 4-0 in the last four meetings.
* Angels are 5-0 in their last five vs. American League East.
* Over is 4-1 in Angels last five vs. American League East.

CONSENSUS: 59 percent of wagers are on the Yankees.

Kevin's Pick(s):
5 STAR = Philadelphia Phillies @ Arizona Diamondbacks - PHILLIES TO WIN (-131)
Listed Pitchers: Lee vs Arroyo
(Note: I'm risking 5.00 units to win 3.82 units)
Arizona took the first of this series last night by a score of 5-4, but that makes them just 8-18 on the season and 2-11 at home (which might include one Australia game). The Phillies fall a game below .500 at 11-12 and are a solid 7-7 on the road. Tonight they send their ace, Cliff Lee, to the mound. Lee is 3-2 with a 3.09 ERA, .306 OBA and 1.31 WHIP. Besides a rough start to the season in Texas, Lee has pitched great. In his last 4 starts he's allowed just 4 earned runs combined and on the season he has 38 strikeouts and just 2 walks. His latest start was 8 innings of shutout baseball where he struckout 10 and walked none vs the Dodgers. Over his career vs the Dbacks he is 4-1 with a 2.93 ERA, .205 OBA and 0.93 WHIP. His last start vs Arizona was 7 shutout innings. He will be facing Bronson Arroyo, who has struggles this season. Arroyo is 1-2 with a 9.50 ERA, .372 OBA and 2.00 WHIP. In his last two starts combined he has pitched 8.2 innings and giving up 18 hits, 14 earned runs, with 3 strikeouts and 4 walks. When Arroyo has his stuff he can be great, but when he doesn't he usually struggles quite a bit like we've seen this season. Arroyo has struggled vs Philadelphia in his career going 4-7 with a 5.35 ERA, .274 OBA and 1.34 WHIP. A few of the Phillies have had some success vs Arroyo over the last 5 years, including Dominic Brown who is hitting .545 off Arroyo in 11 at-bats. Note that the Phillies are 5-1 in Lee's last 6 starts with a total set between 7-8.5, 5-2 in his last 7 vs a team with a losing record, and 5-2 in his last 7 starts with 4 days off. The Dbacks are 0-6 in their last 6 Saturday games, 0-8 in their last 8 games as a a home underdog, and 1-8 in their last 9 games vs a left-handed starter. Also note that the Phillies are 4-1 in Lee's last 5 starts vs the Dbacks. This is a big pitching mis-match with current form, and I expect that current form to continue tonight in Arizona where the Dbacks have struggled. I like the price on Lee and the Phillies and I'm on it for 5 units.
Kyle's Pick(s)
2 UNIT = Boston Red Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays - OVER 9 RUNS (-110)
Listed Pitchers: Buchholz vs. Morrow
(Note: I'm risking 2.00 units to win 1.82 units)
The Dodgers' offense really didn't get moving until they were down, in extra innings. The Rockies scored 3 and the Dodgers came back in the bottom and scored 2. There is no reason the Dodgers should be going to the 9th with only 2 runs against Jordan Lyles.
I said before the season started that the OVER in Blue Jays games would be a good trend to look at. Thus far you would be ahead if you took the OVER in all of their games this season, a 13-9 advantage. Of late is what I have expected from this team: scoring lots of runs and giving up a ton as well. Their last four games have hit the OVER. The last two games weren't even close, as the Blue Jays lost 10-8 and 11-4. Prior to that they won 9-3 in a rather comfortable cover. Finding a reliable number 2 in the rotation has been an issue for the Jays. Mark Buehrle has been great, but other than him the rotation has left a lot to be desired. Brandon Morrow enters today with a 5.03 ERA in four starts. His WHIP has also been lacking too at 1.37. Note that all of his games have gone OVER the number this season. Actually, dating back to last season, Morrow has been involved in 11 straight that have eclipsed the number. Clay Buchholz like Morrow, is trying to get into a rhythm. His ERA is all the way up to 7.71 after a productive 2013 campaign. In his last start against the Orioles, Buchholz lasted only 2.1 innings, getting blasted for 6 runs in that time. The most innings he has lasted this season has been only 6. His OBP is a whopping .402 with a 1.93 WHIP. Not sure what is bothering him, maybe trying to fight through an injury, but it is safe to say he is not himself. I expect some hard hit balls in this matchup, so the OVER 9 looks like a good bet for early Saturday afternoon.
