TOD-
We skipped the play of the day yesterday after a 3 day losing streak. Sometimes it is best to just take a day off and regroup. The TOD record is still strong at 10-5 but we need to get back on the winning side.
The Nashville Predators are on a 5 game win streak and have won 8 of their last 9 with the only defeat being in OT to Atlanta. Lindback has been on fire and has won 6 of 7 since Rinne went down with an injury. They smothered the Devils last night in Jersey, 3-1. Their fore checking is considered the best in hockey and it makes it hard for teams to get any offensive chances.
The Kings are in the middle of a grueling 5 game road trip and have the Chicago Blackhawks on their schedule for tomorrow. This could be a look ahead game and as such they have put their back up goalie in the net. Bernier is a definite downgrade from Quick with only 2 wins in 7 starts this season. His goal against average is a pedestrian 3.3 and with the team defense showing signs of cracking in the St. Louis, this could spell trouble for LA.
We thought the Predators would be -150 or -160 but as of right now the line is a very cheap -105. In fact, the Kings are favored. Are we missing something? The only thing that could derail this pick would be a tired Lindback letting up before a 3 day break.
Tip of the Day – Nash -105
