NBA - 515 New Orleans Hornets @ 516 Houston Rockets

These two teams have been constantly underperfoming the public’s expectations and that’s why we have such a low line in here. The Hornets are 5-0 Under on their last 5 games and the Rockets are 3-1 Under on their last 4 games. Both teams are coming from low scoring games last night, however that doesn’t mean this game will need to be a low scoring affair. Actually I think it’s going to be the opposite of that. The Rockets lost against the Spurs by 75-77 in a game which went exactly as I thought it would (I took Spurs +6). The Spurs tried to slow down the pace of the game as much as they could, get the game closer and then at a ballgame, any team could win and that’s how San Antonio won last night. Weirdly, the Rockets showed little aggressiveness last night, having just 11 FT attempts and half of the offensive boards the Spurs had (5 vs 10). We can say the Spurs wanted to win the game more than the Rockets and naturally I expect a bounce back from the Rockets today, with them coming to this game more aggressive and getting a lot more FT attempts.

On the other side, the Hornets are coming from a close win against the Blazers, in a game where for the first time this season Chris Paul had less than 20 points and 10 assists. The team was affected from their loss against the Lakers on their previous game and the important for them was just to win the game. Today the matchups against the Rockets favor the game to have a good number of points. I remember PG Rafer Alston is out for this game, so Aaron Brooks will start on his place. Brooks is talented guard, with an offensive mind, but against Chris Paul, he will struggle on… defense! CP3 had a bad performance last night and he will want to bounce back in here. On the other side, Tmac shot just 2-12 FG last night, in another poor performance from him. However, today the perspective of him shooting better are good, as he will face Morris Peterson and Peja Stajokovic, who are poor defenders. And even Yao Ming uses to have good performances against the Hornets and last season, in two games against the Hornets, he scored 28 and 30 points.

We are in front of a game with a totals line of 181 points, but with both teams ready to explode offensively. The Rockets will come fired up for today, with another level of aggressiveness and the Hornets have been averaging 101.6 ppg on the road. It will be enough for both teams to score a little bit more 90 points tonight for this game to go over the total posted. Take the over in here.

NOTE: #1 Horse has been scratched

Wunderdog

AQUEDUCT Race #8 (THE STUYVESANT HDCP.) at 3:35 PM Eastern

Top pick: #2 (STUD MUFFIN) - Has improved dramatically since a claim last March by trainer Dave Duggan. He's a double stakes winner(in state-bred company) since, and has placed in several others after being a rather "ordinary" runner before the "buy". Loves this distance (6-3-1-1) and he's only one of two entered with a win on this surface. Takes this with a late move.

2nd pick: #4 (Brilliant Son) - Lightly-raced and fragile, when rested and spotted well by his connections (Kiaran McLaughlin), he's capable of a very big effort. Had a nice prep on the Keeneland turf last out and has some sharp works since. Big speed to utilize and he looks on edge. Win candidate.

3rd pick: #1 (Phil the Power) - Shipper's had a fine season (6-2-2-0) and comes into this in shape, and he's proven that he can "run all day." Draws a great post and attracts Coa for this stakes effort. Has to avoid falling too far back early.

4th pick: #5 (Solar Flare) - Brings some fine speed/stalking ability to the contest. Won the G 1 "Suburban" earlier this year and chased "Commentator" before tiring in the "Whitney". Given some time off, he returned with a good-looking win last out at the Meadowlands.

The service section would be a lot better if the posts were restricted to selections only. It is too much work work to read through the extra posts from posters that should be in the other forums. Opinions, thank you's, put downs, and etc shouldn't be allowed.
Thanks,

I hear what your saying but what had to be posted was posted in the first 10 or 11 pages, your not going to get many more games posted now. I try to clean up as much as I can, but this is the people's forum and after most games are posted the forum is theirs to do what they want. I apologize it upsets you, I will clean it up some more.

Never played ATS Lock until today. Marshall looks to be shitting the bed for 10 units and that'll kill the parlay as well. Looked at their site and it shows that they kick some major ass. My question to the forum is are they as good as they say they are and is their records legit?

Thanks fellas!!

TITLE: NBA Slam Dunk Game of the Day!
REASON FOR PICK: Play On: Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks have been one of the biggest surprises of this early NBA season. They come into this game at 6-2 with just their second loss of the season coming last night to this same Nets team. Josh Smith has been out for four games with an injury but that hasn’t hurt the Hawks yet as their other young talent has picked up the slack. Our math model project Atlanta as our strongest play on the board tonight, and has them winning by 18-points in this game. We are getting great line value here too as the Hawks should be at least 12.5 point favorites. New Jersey is the 23rd ranked defense and the 27th ranked offense in the NBA thus far. On the season the Nets are shooting just 42.6% from the field and allowing opponents to hit 45%. Atlanta on the other hand is the exact opposite with a team average of 45.2% from the field while allowing just 42.1%. At home the Hawks are even better offensively as they shoot over 48%. In last night’s game the Nets weren’t the “norm” as they shot 47.5% from the field and got 30-points from point guard Devin Harris who had been out the past two games with an ankle injury. Now playing the second night of a B2B might be too much to ask for a player that relies on his quickness with a gimpy ankle. The Hawks played pretty well last night but just couldn’t overcome the “home cooking” of the Nets as New Jersey benefited from a +15-point advantage from the free throw line. We also don’t expect rookie center Brook Lopez to match his 25-point, 9-rebound game from last night. Take the Hawks minus the points!
