Hondo

Hondo endured the dreaded triple-flusher last night, swirling down the drain with the Yankees twice (game and ALCS) and the Bearcats to send the runaway deficit skyrocketing to 2,830 selmons.

Today, he will buckle up the chinstrap and try to hit paydirt with Arkansas, Miami, Oklahoma and Ari zona -- 10 units apiece.

North Carolina-Miami Florida UNDER 48.5

Health-wise, North Carolina took another shot this week. Tight end Zack Pianalto, the team’s leading receiver, will miss the remainder of the season with a broken right leg reports Lines-Maker.com.

And that could lead to bigger concerns for the Tar Heels: They have the most efficient passing game in the ACC, but will be without their most dependable receiver for a game against a Miami defense ranked fourth nationally against the pass.

“We’ve got to try to find a way to manufacture catches and yards from somebody else,” head coach Butch Davis said.

This is a big blow for a team that was averaging 1.4 more yards per reception than their opponent normally allows with him. Sans him is another story.

Our OffshoreInsiders.com scouting sources tell us teams have figured out how to defend the U and Miami’s overmatched coaching staff cannot adjust. In their first six games this season, the Hurricanes have been in the red zone 26 times and have scored 73 percent of the time -- 15 touchdowns (seven passing, eight rushing) and four field goals. Their red zone-scoring percentage ranks 102nd out of 120 Football Bowl Subdivision teams.

A year ago, the Hurricanes converted 81 percent of their trips to the red zone into points. Another huge drop-off for UM: third down efficiency.

Last season, the Canes converted 45.7 percent on third down (16th nationally). They are down to 38.37 percent (77th) this year.

Another problem might be the plays called by offensive coordinator Mark Whipple. At Duke, Harris threw 34 passes -- 20 of which were longer than 10 yards. Harris completed only six of those attempts for 140 yards. He was 11 of 14 for 84 yards and a touchdown on his shorter passes.

Miami will be much more conservative. Hence UNC without their top pass catcher, both teams will be much closer to the vest.

Saturday's Selections

30 Dime winner in the SEC on the Auburn Tigers minus the number

20 Dime Dog Shocker Northwestern

Fanelli Kid coming double-duty today, and it is a 30 Dime winner in the SEC on the Auburn Tigers minus the number over the LSU Tigers. That game kicks at 3:30 pm eastern. I also have a 20 Dime Dog Shocker # 2 in a Row on the Northwestern Wildcats plus the points at home versus the Michigan State Spartans. That game kicks at noon eastdrn so make sure to get that one in early you warriors!
Starting with that 30 Dime SEC Game of the Year. This game went from 6 1/2 down to 5 1/2 this wenk which means the house will probably be cleaning up this Saturday.
Auburn is way too poweraful at home to not hand an extremely suspect LSU team its first loss handily. In fairness to LSU, they prepared for the biggest game of the year by whooping up on McNeese State!
I'm sorry I thought we were in conference play here!?!?!...So while Auburn was posting 65 points up against a pretty darn good Arkansas team LSU essentially had a bye week. Congrats LSU, you almost handed those Cowboys as bad a beating as Cal Poly put on them a few weeks ago.
LSU is undefeated, yes...Raise your hand if you think FLORIDA and a depleted UNC team may have been extremely well timed for this LSU squad?
Raise your hand if you just weren't all that impressed with the 16-14 win over Tennessee at home, or the 20-14 HOME win against WEST VIRGINIA?
Aaah, I just pulled a back muscle!!!...Real simple LSU does not have the firepower to keep up with Auburn and their explosive offense. LSU is 113th in the country in passing, 70th in scoring. This will not work. I am well aware LSU has beaten Auburn the last two years.

UNFORTUNATELY FOR PEOPLE BETTING LSU, AUBURN IS AWARE OF THIS TOO!!!!

Don't believe the hype on this one...Auburn is playdng its best football in years and is a real contender for the big one at the end of the year. Not sold on LSU. Don't expect LSU to do much of anything but try and sit on the ball with that moderate running game...(33rd in the country). They do have a pretty good defense but they will not look so good when they are on the field the entire game, gassed from chasing around Auburn. Auburn puts this away in the third quarter so that you can enjoy dinner with your families without having to have sweaty palms.

Bet a pinky. A pinky is 30 dimes in Fanelli-land. Save your hands, as we are going to be smacking your bookie around all weekend with them. Very confident. See you warriors on the other side.

Now let's get to that 20 Dime Dog Shocker.

Northwestern has covered 5 of the last 6 meetings between these two teams.

For the same reason I told you Kentucky would win outright last week, I like Northwestern

Michigan State is riding way too high for a team with ONE ROAD VICTORY.

This is a well-coached, disciplined little team out in Evanston and I look for the home dog to do what it's been doing to undefeated conference rivals all year long...UPSET THEM.

Northwestern is 6-4 as a home dog ATS over their last ten. That coupled with their ATS dominance over MSU, and MSU'S lack of play on the road will lead to the dog cover. This should be a very unsettling Spartan day.

Bet a small toe on this one! Not a whole foot. We will need the whole foot for Sunday when we plant it in your bookie's ass with my biggest play ever!!! As you may have heard, a small toe = 20 dimes in Fanelli-Land.

Until NEXT TIME, have a great day, give yer bookies a smack and then have a nice dinner with your families...I will see you warriors on the side.
