•Mets LH Jon Niese (5-8, 3.51 ERA, WHIP: 1.270) - Niese is trying to stop a four-start losing streak and was lit up for six runs on eight hits - two home runs - in six innings at Washington on Wednesday. The 27-year-old has not notched more than four strikeouts in any of the last three outings. Niese has had some success against Philadelphia in his career, posting a 7-6 record with a 3.03 ERA in 18 career starts.

•Cardinals RH Shelby Miller (8-8, 3.99 ERA, WHIP: 1.352) - Miller turned his third consecutive strong outing with only one win to show for it after allowing one run on four hits in seven innings against Boston on Wednesday. The 23-year-old has permitted five runs in 18 2/3 innings since rejoining the rotation on July 26. Miller yielded three runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings versus Miami on July 5, but walked away with the no-decision.

•Dodgers RH Kevin Correia (5-13, 4.94 ERA, WHIP: 1.461) - Perhaps the change of scenery will help Correia, who had a 1.46 WHIP and allowed opponents to bat .297 during 23 starts with the Twins. The 33-year-old got a no-decision against San Diego on Wednesday, giving up three runs on five hits in six innings. Correia, a 12-year veteran who recorded double-digit victories in four consecutive seasons from 2009-2012, is 3-3 with a 4.20 ERA in 12 lifetime appearances against the Braves.
•Braves RH Julio Teheran (10-8, 2.92 ERA, WHIP: 1.072) - Teheran gave up two runs on five hits against the Dodgers in the series finale in Los Angeles, but was outdueled by Clayton Kershaw in a 2-1 defeat. He was drilled for six runs on nine hits in his last start Wednesday at Seattle, the most runs allowed by the 23-year-old Atlanta ace since June 11. Teheran is 24-16 with a 3.07 ERA in 54 starts since the start of last season.

•Rockies RH Jordan Lyles (6-1, 3.72 ERA, WHIP: 1.293) - Lyles defeated the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday in his first start since missing two months due to a broken bone in his non-throwing hand. He allowed four runs and six hits in six innings to move one victory away from matching his career high set last season. Lyles’ only loss of the season was against the Padres when he was roughed up for six runs in 3 1/3 innings and issued a season-worst six walks May 17.
