THE WINNING ADDICT
GUARANTEED PLAY #1: Atlanta Braves -152
I know the Nats have given the Braves fits, but I love the way Jurrgens has responded after a rough patch, and Livan Hernandez can't seem to find a way to win a game. The Nats have been horrible in his starts, and Jair has been a road wins machine, so I don't think much more can be said for this spot. The Nats aren't hitting, so while the two wins over the Mets in their last 2 were nice, I don't see them getting another against an Atlanta team looking to rebound after leaving tons of runners on yesterday in a 3-1 loss to Florida.
GUARANTEED PLAY #2: Cincinnati Reds -124
While I know Arroyo has been atrocious, I just love this spot for a huge bounce back as the Reds are finally starting to find their footing after a great weekend series. The Reds have lost 3 in a row and 4 of the last 5 games Arroyo has started, and having a 5.58 ERA in the NL Central is embarrassing. With that said, this is a great matchup for him, because while the Astros lineup sucked before this weekend--they are now without Hunter Pence and Michael Bourn--which is a huge drop. Meanwhile, Bud Norris has been Houston's best pitcher this season, but the Reds are finally playing with a little desperation, and they need to take advantage of these games with Houston. The Astros' pen is the worst in baseball, and quite frankly, to get the Reds around -124 is a steal. Cincy has dominated this series lately and needs this game, and couple that with the fact that they are simply much better than Houston--I love this spot. Hammer the Reds.
