I believe that I have a very good read on Loyola Chicago today and so I am hammering them from all angles. If you do not want to do the same, then ignore the Teasers/Parlay.

Loyola-Chicago is more efficient on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball than Oral Roberts. They run a four guard offense so they aren’t a great rebounding team but they’re fast and can get up and down the court to play VERY good defense on missed shot-attempts. This defense is going to give Oral Roberts fits, especially with Loyola Chicago at home. Oral Roberts is fresh off a four point victory, in round 1 of this tournament, but it required that they 55.6% overall, 57.9% from 3-point range and 80% from the Charity Stripe; and they still only won by four points. It is not very likely that O.R finds a way to match those numbers versus a very gifted Loyola-Chicago defense. The only way I could see Oral Roberts winning/covering is if 1) they put up insane numbers like they did in their last game or 2) if Loyola-Chicago was a very shallow team and their better players could get into foul trouble. The one category in which Oral Roberts succeeds, is the ability to draw contact and get to the foul line. Oral Roberts is ranked in the top 10 of the country for their ability of drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line which can present a lot of troubles for shallow teams that can get into foul trouble BUT Loyola-Chicago are as deep as they come. Ten players play at least ten minutes for Loyola and no player plays more than 27 minutes (67%) of the game. Foul trouble should not be an issue for Loyola-Chicago. Oral-Roberts has not beat a team of Loyola-Chicago’s ability/rank while on the road, all season, and I don’t believe that they start today. While I have this pegged as an 8 point Loyola-Chicago victory, I really wouldn’t be surprised at all by a double digit beat-down.

FYI for those looking at tonight's CBB: NIT Home Teams on the first Monday of Round 2 are 6-0 SU+ATS the last 2 years, all wins by 9 or more points.. All 5 NIT Round 2 Home Teams (Fri-Sun) have already covered in this year's tournament, with the 3 games remaining tonight. Round 2 NIT Home Teams are now on a 17-4 ATS Run since the 2013 Tourney.

Before anyone blindly bets these - Tulsa is one of the teams this trend fits. Tonight's opponent Murray State is a Buzzer Beater Loss away from being in the Big Dance. They have won 11 straight Road Games. And they have covered 7 of their last 8 in Postseason Tournaments. Best to just fade whichever Side Demarco ends up on in that game :)
