anyone know what lang said about his loss??? curious
The disappointment I feel isn't about losing the game, but for not winning the game for an 18th straight year for everyone who put their faith in me.
Not everyone got the first 17 and a lot of people only got #18. It just wasn't meant to be last night.
Need to go see one of those spiritual people who channel up spirits and ask her to call up Dimaggio's so I can ask him how he felt inside the day after his 56 game hitting streak came to an end.
If God had come to anyone 20 years ago and said to them, "I will give you 17 straight super bowl winners in a row before you lose your first but understand the devastation you are going to feel when you lose your first is going to be unbearable. Do you want that?
There isn't a soul on the planet earth who wouldn't have taken that.
I am a realist and I knew at some point it was going to come to an end but to have to cross that bridge sooner than later is something I just didn't think would happen today.
Not with the Colts, not with Peyton Manning, not last night.
Up 17-16, with the ball at the Saints 32, having just picked up a 4th and 2, just over 12 minutes to go in the game, you just expect the Colts to go in there and score, go up 24-16, watch their defense get the stop and then Peyton closes out the game.
It's what the Colts do. What I handicapped them to do. What I've seen them do countless times before but on this night I saw them run for 2 yards and then 2 questionable play calls on 2nd and 3rd down led to the miss field goal and GAME OVER.
I guess when destiny decides to back a team, back a city, you don't go against that and it was just destiny for the Saints to win last night and as I found out the hard way, you can't beat destiny.
Tough pill to swallow believe you me but the sun rose today and the sun will set today and my life will go on.
Speaking of which, it was just a matter of time before I heated up in basketball and going 6-0 Tuesday thru Saturday last week setting the table for basketball winner #7 in a row tonight.
You start walking by putting one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward.
