Monday's Selections ...
Note:
Flat-out a solid run coming out of the all star break.
After the perfect 3-0 sweep on Friday night putting the bankroll in the positive for the week, it was all about stepping up and delivering the winning weekend, and with it my 8th straight winning week.
I didn't get it done, but I won't allow the last 2 days take away from what I've accomplished the last 8 weeks.
A winning month of July. A winning month of August. 7 of 8 winning weeks.
Now my goal, my focus shifts to the winning September, and 3 straight winning months. Long way to go here before this month is over and a lot of games yet to be released.
Have to seize back the momentum today and head into the new week, arguably one of my most important weeks of the year on a winning note.
Here is why I like Miami/Florida tonight.
10 DIMER - MIAMI-FLORIDA HURRICANES - Rolling with the Canes.
Bottom line is I really like what Randy Shannon has done to turn this program around, and personally I feel the Canes are flat out the better team.
Let's start with Jacory Harris, who has been a flat out winner every time he has started any game at QB in his career as evidenced by his 31-1 record in High school and college.
These two teams are very evenly matched almost every time they play which would tell you the underdog is the play. Over the last 4 meetings, the underdog has won outright, while the 5th went to overtime.
Florida State is a horrific 11-20 ATS as a favorite their last 31 on the vegas board and I guess truth be told, Bobby Bowden just isn't getting it done.
Miami has been a cash cow lately on the road delivering 5 of their last 7 on the highway, and 3 of their last 4 as an underdog.
It seems when these two get together it's a field goal game and catching almost a full touchdown here is value I will gladly take in a game I feel goes down to the wire.
Bottom line is it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Canes came in here and won the game outright.
Miami is the play.
MIAMI-FLORIDA HURRICANES
5 DIMER - CINCINNATI BEARCATS - This game might flat out come down to who has the ball last.
Everyone is aware of how many starters the Bearcats have back on defense which is only 1 and they are facing arguably the best offensive line in the Big East.
In other words, Rutgers is going to score. Count on that, which is why my free pick is the over in this game.
The only question is can Rutgers shut down the Bearcats offensively? My dollar says they can't.
With QB Tony Pike back and his full compliment of skill players, this Bearcats offense is going to be electrifying to say the least.
There is no disputing in this game Rutgers has the better defense but losing Teel at QB and having to replace a starting QB like that is going to hurt Rutgers a bit early on.
They will go with the ground game early behind that big offensive line and get Dominic Natale in favorable play action situations for him to succeed early in this football game.
You add the fact Cincy has won the last 3 in this series, and Brian Kelly is 3-0 as a road dog in Big East play since '07, and 6-1 as an underdog in the Big East.
At the end of the day it's hard to ignore the underdog numbers of head coach Brian Kelly. At Central Michigan and here at Cincinnati, this man has cashed the ticket 10 of his last 11 when getting points.
My money is grabbing more than a field goal with an underdog coach who flat out has shown you he can get it done.
Cincy plus the points is the play here.
