Indians at Reds
Pick: Under 9

This is a big total to be playing at in an NL park, particularly when Justin Masterson makes no attempt to hit for Cleveland. Beyond Jay Bruce and Joey Votto, Cincinnati is not a left-handed heavy team and that is important for Masterson to be able to pitch well tonight.

Cleveland got a nice on Wednesday, 6-2 over Arizona, to win that series. Carlos Carrasco was strong and Cleveland allowed just one walk in the ninth inning. The Indians are 1-10-1 OU since July 21, 2010 as a dog after a win in which they allowed 1 or fewer walks for a net profit of $880 when playing the under.

Cincinnati is also coming off a win, 4-3, in Tampa Bay. The Reds are 3-11-1 OU since August 02, 2010 as a favorite after a win and it is the first game of the series for a net profit of $765 when playing the under.

Masterson was real strong in his last start, going 6.2 innings allowing just one unearned run but lost, 1-0, to San Francisco. The Indians are 0-8 OU since July 25, 2010 when Justin Masterson starts as a dog after going at least 6 innings and giving up no home runs for a net profit of $800 when playing the under.

The Indians however, are a high strikeout team and that sets up well for the pitcher on the other side. The Reds are 4-16-2 OU since July 17, 2009 when Bronson Arroyo starts as a favorite vs a team that has averaged 7+ strikeouts per game for a net profit of $1160 when playing the under.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Oakland A's
Play: Oakland A's

Oakland's Rich Harden makes his first start of the season off a spring training injury and enters this game with a lifetime 55-34 big league record. Two small trends butt heads here as Arizona is 7-2 in their last nine road games and Oakland is 7-2 in their last nine interleague contests.

My guess would be since he has been losing lately, is trying to make up. Right now -100* with Tampa Bay but is killing with Texas.

I would never even consider using a service which chases its losses with increasingly bigger plays-a guaranteed losing strategy over time.

Why would you follow his exact units if you do not have the bankroll for it?

JLB is a good handicapper but i am a smart enough gambler to follow the PICKS and bet what i am able to bet...

JLB is better then most in MLB even if his units have increased.

He may be better than most in baseball(although I would have to see stats. for an entire season to validate this), but I think you are missing the point here
Namely if a capper wants business, he has to honsetly be able to say that over time his picks show a profit according to his rating system unless of course all plays are rated the same.
Over the course of time all cappers will have winning streaks and losing streaks.
When one is winning, handicapping 101 says it is ok to raise the units in order to maximize the winning streak.
When one is losing, the opposite is true, and one is supposed to cut back on the bets.
Thus my point is that if jlb really did raise the units during a losing streak, he is in effect telling his customers to do so also, which is breaking the rule cited in the last sentence and more times than not this strategy will accentuate the losses.
From my perspective cappers imo who continually operate with this mindset are not really being honest and fair with their customers because they are telling the latter in essence to chase their losses in the hopes that they can win back what they lost quickly rather than just taking it easy until they start winning again.
To evaluate a capper, imo one cannot separate the quality of the picks from the units wagered on them, and at the very least, folks who try to quickly get back what they have lost are exhibiting extremely poor money management techniques.

Right on the money with your comment, Savage. I followed this guy and he seemed legit until he got on this losing streak. The minute his units went up from the standard 6-10 range he was playing (and the occasional 20 unit play), to the 100 unit play, that took him off the list of a serious capper IMHO. He is now in chase mode and is losing his clients money, hand over foot. It's extremely poor money management and not a capper I would suggest anyone follow going forward.

Bodyforlife-We are on the same page on this one-some day that chasing strategy will get his customers into deep doo doo.
The few good cappers over time that are out out there don't operate in this fashion-they wait until they win for a day or two at least before raising the units.
I assure you also that the few successful folks out there who are successful over time and don't use services NEVER chase their losses immediately with bigger plays-patience, disclipine and proper money management are absolute requirements if someone really has any hope at all of winning at this stuff over time.
