5* Over Yanks/Boston 10.0/-105
Going OVER the total in Boston. Right off the bat 9 of the last 10 here have gone over. I think we will get overs in every game this weekend here. Totally not sold on Lackey. This isn't 2003. Yanks have been hitting the ball well. Now the Sox are winless, and my only fear in not making this a 10*, is that they will be pressing. This is their home opener. They are showing their new toys of Crawford and Gonzalez. This lineup can hit. Lets not be fooled people. Sox still are winning 90+. On to Hughes. And I have to say, if you are a Yankees fan, I would be a bit concerned. His loss of velocity from spring has carried over to this first start. This kid might have a dead arm after logging a full year in 2010. Boston bats should be all over him if he is throwing like that. Wouldn't suprise me in the least to see 5-5 by the 5th or 6th inning here. 5* OVER Yankees/Sox
4* Mets -145
Taking the Mets here. Sometimes we roll out faves and we try to stay under the 150-160 mark. Don't sleep on RA Dickey. Last year he posted a 2.94 ERA in 174 innings. He did go just 11-9, but that team was terrible. Mets coming off a beating to the Phillies at the hands of Roy Halladay. No shame getting beat by that guy. Home opener, against the Nats. Come on. Mets have won 4 of the last 5 in the series. Zimmerman is 0-9 his last 9 starts on the road. Dickey was sharp in his first start, striking out 7 in 6 innings in what was a 9-2 win. 4* NY METS
4* Astros +105
Taking the Astros in their home opener. Had this guys yesterday as my Dog of the Day and they delivered. Great spot for them here. First off, they are off a day game and we snug in thier beds for a goods night sleep. As I am writing this at 1035pm Thursday night, the Fish are in the bottom of the 11th losing at home to the Nats. I do like Ricky Nolasco, but this is a tough spot. Marlins have lost 4 of the last 5 here in Houston. The Astros are sending out Bud Norris. Astros have won 6 of his last 7 home starts and 10 of his last 14 starts overall. Bud did get shelled giving up 5 runs in 4 innings his last time out in Philly. On the bright side, he did strike out 7. The kid throws strikes and the Fish are a lot younger and undisciplined then the Phills. Nolasco off a solid 7 inning ND where he gave up 2 earned. Again. This is a tough spot as the Fish are flying in late and facing a more rested team who has beaten them 4 of the last 5 here. 4* HOUSTON ASTROS
4* LA Angels -124
Taking the Halos here. Angels another team in their home opened. They have been sitting around for a day waiting for the Jays. Toronto making the cross-country flight after dropping the series finale to the A's. Now, we are playing this as a 4. Tomorrow, we will come back as a 5 and maybe even a 10. I feel that the trip really takes the wind out of a team sails. The second game is really when that jet lag hits you. Angels 4-0 on Santana's last 4 vs the Jays and 4-1 last 5 starts vs Toronto here at home. LAA gets the call. 4* LA ANGELS
