Speaking of crashes … Can things get any worse for the last-place Mets? Me thinks so. Dropped both games at home to the Braves and looked lethargic doing so. New basement dwellers of the NL East could be without the services of best pitcher Noah Syndergaard and best hitter Yoenis Cespedes as they make their way to Washington to take on the league-leading Nationals. Jacob deGrom will have to pitch better than he did last time if he intends to keep this close. Walked six, allowing three runs. Max Scherzer struck out nine over eight innings against the less-than-Amazins on Sunday. Expect more of the same facing this depleted lineup — 20 units on the Nats in what appears to be a walk-over. … This just in though: Tim Tebow hit his first triple for the Mets minor league affiliate Rufus T Fireflies. Raised his average to .246 and waiting for the call. … The Phillies edged the Marlins on Thursday and now Stitches is feeling discomfort in his arm N hammy. Lowered our stash to 863 palaminos.
