The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

BANG THE BOOK

Friday's Best Tourney Bets

Marquette Golden Eagles vs. North Carolina Tar Heels (-4.5, 151)

East Region- No.11 Marquette Golden Eagles vs. No.2 North Carolina Tar Heels (-5) Over/Under 148
Marquette, along with Connecticut became the two sole survivors from a decimated Big East contingent of teams. The Golden Eagles actually eliminated one of their own with a 66-62 win over Syracuse as a 4 ½-point underdog. North Carolina, behind Tyler Zeller’s game-high 23 points knocked off Washington 86-83 as a four-point favorite to advance on. The Tar Heels come into this game a bit more balanced on offense which should be enough to get by the Golden Eagles in this round.

PICK: North Carolina

Kentucky Wildcats vs. Ohio State Buckeyes (-6, 140)

East Region- No.4 Kentucky Wildcats vs. No.1 Ohio State Buckeyes (-5) Over/Under 138.5
The Wildcats’ three freshman starters continue to gain on the job training by first holding off Princeton 59-57 as a 12 ½-point favorite and then beating West Virginia 84-76 as a 3 ½-point favorite. Ohio State has yet to be tested in double-digit wins over UT-San Antonio and George Mason. The Buckeyes will have to work a bit harder in this one but, behind a huge effort by Jared Sullinger, come away with the win and easily cover the five points.

PICK: Ohio State

Richmond Spiders vs. Kansas Jayhawks (-10.5, 136)

Southwest Region- No.12 Richmond Spiders vs. No.1 Kansas Jayhawks (-10.5) Over/Under 138
Richmond upset No.5 seed Vanderbilt 69-66 as a three-point underdog and then eliminated one of the other bracket-busters, Morehead State 64-48 as a 4 ½-point favorite. Kansas cruised to victories in its first two games with double-digit wins. The Jayhawks continue to roll behind the Morris twins, Marcus and Markieff as they both appear to be just warming up.

PICK: Kansas

VCU Rams vs. Florida State Seminoles (-4, 131)

Southwest Region- No.11 VCU Rams vs. No.10 Florida State Seminoles (-4) Over/Under 133
VCU is playing with a huge chip on its shoulder after all the criticism it received about its controversial at-large bid. The Rams have three tournament wins including a 94-76 rout over Purdue as a 9 ½-point underdog, and you get the feeling this team is not quite ready to call it quits. Florida State has been impressive in its own right with a 71-57 rout of No.2 seed Notre Dame as a 4 ½-point underdog. Stick with the Rams for at least one more game as they look to add an exclamation point next to their recent statement.

PICK: VCU

PICK 'N' ROLL

Friday's Best NBA Bet

Philadelphia 76ers at Miami Heat (N/A)

The hot-and-cold Miami Heat have managed to win six of their last seven games heading into Friday’s game, but much like a lot of this season, they still have a lot of wrinkles to work out.

Heat supporters know all about it. With such a huge public following, Miami has covered in only four of its last 14 games and dropped the cash again in a 100-94 win over Detroit as the club was set as an 8.5-point favorite.

One bright spot lately has been Chris Bosh, who chipped in 23 points and seven boards against the Pistons and is riding a nice hot streak over his last half dozen contests. However, Miami’s latest project is trying to work veteran Mike Bibby into the mix and it looks like it may take a while.

"I think we'll be fine as we move forward," Miami coach Spoelstra told reporters. "We've faced a lot of different things this season. We've been able to adapt.”

Sure, but this is obviously still a work in progress. Against such a deep team like the 76ers that could have Andre Iguodala back, you may want to ride Miami’s ATS slump.

PICK: N/A

Detroit Pistons at Cleveland Cavaliers (+3, 197)

As much as we hate backing the inconsistent Pistons, this matchup is a case of picking the lesser of two evils. And Cleveland has most certainly been downright evil to bettors lately.

Granted, Cleveland did look a little better battling New Jersey to a 98-94 loss on Wednesday, but supporters still went home empty handed with the club set as a 2.5-point chalk. The Cavs now have just one win over the last nine games, covering once over that span.

“Down the stretch, on the offensive end, we just have to do a much better job of executing,” coach Byron Scott told reporters. “And again, with a young bunch of guys that we have that are inexperienced at being in that situation, this might be a good learning session for us tomorrow.”

Detroit looked good the other night against the Heat and shouldn’t have much trouble handing the young Cavs another lesson here.

Friday's Best NHL Bets

Carolina Hurricanes at Tampa Bay Lightning (-140, 5.5)

The last thing the Tampa Bay Lightning have had to worry about for most of this season is scoring goals, but they’re in a bit of an offensive drought heading into Friday’s game.

The Lightning have been held to two or fewer goals in eight of their last 11 games and have just two wins over that stretch. Steven Stamkos hasn't picked up a point in three games and Martin St. Louis has been held off the score sheet in two straight.

"This is one of those things where it's not going our way, but we have to make it go our way," center Nate Thompson told reporters. "These are times where you have to stick together and bounce back because no one is going to feel sorry for us, and no one is going to wait for us."

The Hurricanes have had offensive problems off and on all season, though they have managed to light the red light seven times while winning consecutive games to stay alive in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

We’ll take a flyer with the under in a big game for both teams.

PICK: Under

Florida Panthers at Buffalo Sabres (-240, 5.5)

There’s absolutely no value in playing the Sabres at this price and it’s hard to imagine anyone outside of Buffalo bettors actually watching this one.

Nothing against the Sabres – they’re a solid team that can afford to take some chances with Ryan Miller in goal, but Florida is a different story. The Panthers are absolutely rotten and it’s not like their future looks all that bright either.

Stephen Weiss is easily their most productive player and he’s going through a bit of a down year without much of a supporting cast. To that end, it’s no surprise that the Panthers have been shutout in two straight games and have just one win over their last five.

"I don't know what to say. It's the same players over and over," Florida goaltender Tomas Vokoun said after the latest loss. "We haven't scored in two games, and we're giving up 3-on-2s, guys are pinching up. It is what it is, but that's not 'playing for the team' to me.

We’ll have to go under in what could be a major snoozer.

Friday's Betting Tips: VCU's Turnover Ratio Key To A Cover

Lines To Watch

Ohio State opened as a 5-point favorite against Kentucky, but the betting public is starting to weigh in with Buckeyes bets as the game nears. OSU can be found as high as -6 now.

Who’s Hot

NCAAB: Marquette has played under the total in 14 of its last 16 games overall.

NCAAB: Richmond has covered in 10 of its last 11 games overall and has a lot of points to work with on Friday, set as a 10.5-point underdog against Kansas.

NCAAB: Ohio State has covered in seven of its last nine games.

NBA: The Denver Nuggets are 14-2 against the spread in their last 16 contests.

NHL: Carolina has won 11 of its last 16 meetings with Tampa Bay.

NHL: Washington is 14-3 in its last 17 contests.

Who’s Not

NCAAB: The over is only 3-7 in VCU’s last 10 games and is only 1-5 in Florida State’s last six games. Oddsmakers have Friday’s VCU-FSU total at 131.

NBA: The Los Angeles Clippers have dropped five straight against the number, though they have covered in seven of their last nine meetings with the Lakers.

NBA: Miami is just 4-10 against the spread in its last 14 contests.

NBA: Toronto has covered only twice in their last 13 road games.

NHL: The Florida Panthers are 8-23 in their last 31 games.

Key Stat

+20 – After barely squeaking in, VCU leads the NCAA Tournament with a +20 turnover margin and that stat could come into play in a big way against Florida State. The Seminoles have the Tournament’s worst turnover margin, sitting at -6 through the first two games. Oddsmakers currently have Florida State listed as a 4-point favorite.

Injury That Shouldn’t Be Overlooked

Deron Williams, New Jersey Nets: Williams’ status is still up in the air for Friday’s game against Orlando, but if he is able to suit up, the word is that he will start. Williams has missed the last three games and is expected to test out his strained wrist in shootaround. We should have another update after that.

Game Of The Day

Ohio State Buckeyes at Kentucky Wildcats (-5.5, 140)

Notable Quotable

“Everyone on the team knows we can win this game. It seems like the pressure is off of us now. It seems like the pressure is on Kansas. Everyone is counting us out now. They’re like, ‘Richmond got to the Sweet 16. That was a great season for them.’ But that’s not what we’re here for.” – Richmond guard Kevin Anderson about the Spiders being a heavy underdog in Friday’s game against Kansas. Oddsmakers currently have Richmond set as a 10.5-point underdog, the biggest number on the board.

Tips And Notes

Keep your eye on Richmond’s Darrius Garrett, who averages only 12.8 minutes per game, but could see a lot more than that as the Spiders try to contain Kansas in the paint. Garrett checks in at 6-foot-9 and only 210 pounds but he puts up 1.6 blocks per game and is a decent rebounder. The Spiders know they’re in big trouble unless they can compete on the interior, so Garrett may end up being a major part of their game plan.

Cleveland's Baron Davis is listed as probable for Friday’s game against the Detroit Pistons and could start. Davis participated fully in Thursday’s practice and coach Byron Scott apparently wants him to start at least 10 games down the stretch. The veteran point guard has missed six of the last seven games with back and knee problems.

The Carolina Hurricanes desperately need captain Eric Staal to be in top form if they’re going to get back into a playoff spot. Staal, the team’s leading scorer with 65 points this season, left Tuesday’s game with a lower body injury but was able to practice Thursday and the team hopes he’ll be able to suit up Friday against Tampa Bay. However, coach Paul Maurice said his captain may see decreased ice time.

John Henson (UNC)
over 10 rebounds (+100)

John Henson of UNC has been a nice rebounder for the Tar Heels. He averages about 10.1 per game but he has 10 or more in his last 10 games. He has 10, 11, 18, 11, 13, 12, 12, 15, 15 and 12 in recent games. The Tar Heels face Marquette on Friday night and are one of the best rebounding teams in the country. The over/under is set for 150 points so there should be plenty of shots missed and opportunities for Henson to grab some miscues to get over 10.

New Jersey at Pittsburgh

The Devils look to bounce back from a 4-1 loss to Boston and build on their 14-3 record in their last 17 games after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game.
