drawing penalties is not a repectable skill, this isnt soccer diving is actually supposed to be a penalty. Penalties are supposed to be called less in OT, the thought being you dont want the game decided by a call that wasnt completely material to the play unless it absolutely had to be called. Generally people who know hockey know that ovechkin wasnt going for knee to knee, that woulda been stupid as he could have been the one to catch the worst of it. Gonch tried to get out of the way of ov's hit ov tried to clip him with the shoulder and it was an unfortunate result.
it's not even a skill they possess...if ivan is whining about crosby and malking, why not ovechkin? there was a blatent dive by him in either game 5 or 6 can't remember but he went down and drew a high stick when he was hit in the torso with it lol. defensemen cannot defend crosby\malkin's stick handling so they are left swingin and they get caught with it. it's not the skill of drawing them, it's the skill of their handling and speed.
