Instead, they have gone the unexpected route, by adding to their already prolific offense. I have no doubt that these two will bear fruit for <st1:City><st1lace>Palermo</st1lace></st1:City> in the near future, who will become a true offensive force in Serie A. Things to consider about today’s match: <st1:City><st1lace>Catania</st1lace></st1:City> is a tough home performer, with only one loss in 10 games, and 18 goals scored. <st1:City><st1lace>Palermo</st1lace></st1:City> is far from dominant on the road, as they are at home, having produced 4W-3D-3L, and only 9 goals scored. Not convinced that they are in form, no goals scored in the last two games (foreign territory for <st1:City><st1lace>Palermo</st1lace></st1:City>) the key to this match is offense. CATANIA, Sicily: A police officer was killed when fans rioted at a Serie A match between local rivals Palermo and Catania, Italian news agencies reported .

The ANSA and Apcom news agencies said the officer died after an explosive device was thrown at him. No further details were immediately available.

The match was temporarily suspended in the 58th minute — with Palermo leading 1-0 — after tear gas filled Catania's Angelo Massimino stadium.

Police had released the gas following clashes with Palermo fans inside and outside the ground.

Palermo won the game 2-1.

All Serie A games have been cancelled this weekend due to the death of the police officer.

I think it was only a month or two ago when a police-officer lost his hand after an explosive was thrown at him by PSG or Marseille fans. Unsure exactly what team it was.

This hooligan gang culture in football needs to be sorted out.
